The seers had indeed chosen the day well. The morning of the swearing-in ceremony dawned bright. The sun rose in the sky, casting a red tinge over the clouds and creating a hazy haze.
Today, my brothers and I would officially become the Alphas of Silver Creek, a role I had come to realize was far more demanding than it appeared on the surface. Three days of being Alpha had made me appreciate my father in ways I never had before—how many tough decisions he had taken for the pack, how busy he had been, and yet, he had still managed to squeeze out time for us, his family.
And to think he had done all of that as the only Alpha…
"Amazing," I muttered under my breath.
Already, I could feel the weight of responsibility settling on my shoulders, but at least I had two brothers to share the burden of ruling a pack of five thousand wolves with.
I leaned forward slightly, my eyes sweeping the grounds below, which had been decorated in the official pack colors of gold and silver.
