A few days pass with Samael recovering after his violent Bloodline awakening and he's finally recovered enough to start cultivating. They are in the same clearing where Samael's initial awakening occurred. Sarah walks up to Samael with a thick book in her hand. "This is the basic Body Refinement Technique you're going to be using for the foreseeable future. The book was black, with a used and worn exterior, like it had endured eons of wear and tear. Samael holds the book with both his hands as he opens it, a giddy feeling wells up as this is what he's been waiting for his whole life. Samael has always wanted to grow strong, soar across the stars, and become someone significant. With strength, he could find out what happened to his parents, and he could find his family. "Thank you, Miss Caretaker. I will cherish this manual forever."
Samael opens the book and begins to read the instructions in the manual. He then sits down cross-legged and begins to use the breathing techniques. *According to the manual I have to feel the energy in the air and bring in both Chaos Energy and Soul Essence with my breath. I then have to use that energy to push out impurities from my organs and enter the 1st stage of Body Refinement.* About an hour passed as Samael was searching for the energy in the air. A familiar sensation came over him. The feeling was the same as what the boy had felt when his Bloodline first began to awaken 8 months ago. *So it was a combination of Chaos Energy and Soul Essence I was feeling.* Now that Samael was sensing the energies flowing all around him, the boy brought up his system page for the first time.

*How can my physical attributes already be as strong as someone at the 3rd stage of Body Refinement? My bloodline is only partially awakened too. It must be very powerful to be able to strengthen me so much before I even start cultivating. My race and Bloodline are unknown too… That's very strange. I appear to have some kind of affliction as well but it's all covered up on the system page. What is going on with me?* Samael continues to ponder as he studies his system page some more, noting several strange things. A few minutes later Samael goes back to training his Body Refinement, aiming to reach the 1st stage before the end of the day. The boy starts pulling in Chaos Energy and Soul Essence with every breath, circulating the energies throughout his body according to the manual. A dark sludge begins to pour out of Samael's pores and a foul stench permeates the air. 4 hours later Samael reaches the 1st stage of the Body Refinement Realm. The stench becomes too much, making Samael gag from the nasty odor as he gets up and walks over to the small creek at the edge of the clearing. Samael goes into the water and begins to wash himself off to get rid of the impurities. The water around him turns black as the gunk floats away down the creek. It takes the boy one and a half hours to finally get rid of the smell and become clean again.
Samael continues this cycle for several more days as he refines his organs, expelling their impurities, and washes himself off in the creek. After a full week of Refinement Samael reaches the peak of the 1st stage of the Body Refinement Realm. Samael goes over to Augustus, who just broke through to the 4th stage. "Aug, let's do some sparring. I need to consolidate my new strength and sparring with you is always a good workout." "Sure thing, Mael. I just broke through to the 4th stage so I need to consolidate my strength as well." "Congratulations on breaking through to the 4th stage Aug. I really do have a lot of catching up to do!" Samael and Augustus smile at each other, Augustus gets up and they move to the center of the clearing. The two boys start stretching their bodies, readying themselves for the physical exertion. They move their bodies and rid themselves of the stiffness that comes with having been still for almost the entire past few days, only moving to clean themselves of impurities. Roughly half an hour later they are ready for their spar. The two boys move away from each other, leaving a 60-foot gap between them as they position themselves for the spar.
Augustus steps hard on the ground, making parts of the earth fly up into the air. He then manipulates the rocks and debris into a large spike, which he grabs and throws towards Samael. The earth spike moves at immense speeds towards Samael. Samael jumps forward, grabs the earth spike, and throws it into the ground, destroying it against the ground. He then rushes forward, reaching speeds of 160mph and grabbing Augustus by the head. He then flings Augustus back. Augustus bounced along the ground leaving a trail in the earth. Samael chases after grabbing him and throwing him into the air. As Augustus starts falling he forms a layer of protective Chaos Energy around his body. Samael jumps up, kicking Augustus down into the earth. Augustus lands on the ground hard, kicking up a small dust cloud. Samael stands back, looking into the dust cloud when Augustus comes barreling out at full speed. He manipulates the earth around Samael forming restraints that bind him in place. Augustus punches Samael in the chest at full force causing him to fly backwards at high speeds. Augustus forms a wall behind Samael, which Samael uses to land and push off back towards Augustus. Samael hits Augustus in the face, making him fall to the ground. Samael helps Augustus up with a smile on his face. "That was a good spar, Aug. I have better control of my strength already." "You completely overwhelmed me, Mael. I should have a big advantage considering my significantly larger energy pool and experience fighting at this level. Your bloodline must be insanely strong. It lets you fight someone 3 stages above your own and even win."
