Chapter 10
One Piece: Legacy of the Pirate King
The ocean burned.
Not with flames alone, but with cursed winds and crimson steam rising from the very surface of the sea. Every wave was a beast, frothing with rage, every current a pull toward oblivion. Above, the sky had turned black, not from nightfall—but from the monstrous fleet that blotted out the sun.
The Fleet of Calypso.
Ships made of bone, iron, and wood warped by time—drifting silently, yet pulsing with blood-red light. Masts carried the emblems of long-dead pirates: the Rocks Pirates, remnants of Davy Back fighters, and even ancient World Government war banners now twisted into demonic mockeries.
At the front of the armada sailed Gravemind's flagship: The Hollow Tide.
Standing upon its prow, Gravemind gazed toward the horizon, toward the lush silhouette of Amazon Lily in the distance.
"Bring it down," he said coldly.
Beside him, Admiral Ronin stepped forward. No longer clad in the pure white of justice, his armor now bore sea prism spikes, and his fists were wrapped in glowing haki bands fueled by the blood-ritual he had undergone.
He raised his hand.
"Rain hell."
The first cannonball flew—not from a cannon, but from a Leviathan's mouth. A creature of myth, tamed by the ritual, unleashed its fury with a sonic boom. The blast struck the water just offshore from Amazon Lily, triggering a shockwave that shattered coral reefs and blew apart the defensive perimeter.
Explosions tore through the eastern coast.
The Kuja warriors raced to formation, spears at the ready.
And in the ruined palace, Hancock stood holding baby Lian, her body still weak but her will iron-strong.
"He's here," she said, eyes glowing faintly. "Luffy… come back to me."
Across the sea, the Thousand Sunny screamed through the air, carried not by wind, but by the sheer will of its captain.
Luffy stood on the masthead in Gear Fifth, hair wild, body crackling with lightning, his eyes reflecting the fire beyond the horizon.
Zoro stepped beside him, twin blades drawn. "Looks like a real war this time."
Sanji, adjusting his tie, lit a cigarette. "I say we crash the party."
Robin, voice cold as steel, added, "They're after your son."
Chopper roared in Monster Point form, slamming his fists together. "Then they'll have to go through us first."
Luffy raised his fist.
And the storm responded.
A massive sea-dragon—formed from clouds and lightning—whirled around the Sunny as it dove straight into the enemy fleet.
The first ship shattered on impact.
BOOM!
Wood, bones, and shadows flew in every direction. The Sunny shot through it like a bullet. The Straw Hats leapt into battle mid-air.
Zoro descended upon a twin-blade specter, slicing it clean through with a roar.
Sanji burst into the air, blue flames dancing on his legs as he struck a time-warped marine general in the chest.
Robin created giant hands of stone and slammed them into enemy ships, capsizing them with thunderous force.
Franky deployed new cannons from the Sunny's wings, lighting up the sky with laser fire.
But even as they fought, more and more of Gravemind's ships rose.
Hundreds.
Thousands.
Endless.
And then—the sea itself split.
From the center, Gravemind rose on a throne of chains. His body was wrapped in armor made from the ribcage of a Sea King. His cleaver now glowed with ancient runes, and his face showed no joy—only fate.
"Monkey D. Luffy!" he roared. "Your blood ends today!"
From behind him, Admiral Ronin stepped forward, summoning a tidal wave of pure haki, black and red, infused with the stolen essence of a hundred fallen pirates.
Luffy landed on a nearby wrecked ship, his sandals cracking the boards.
He grinned.
"You made a mistake."
Gravemind's eyes narrowed. "Oh?"
"You came to my home."
CLANG!
Zoro clashed with a ghostly version of Ryuma, conjured by the cursed sea. Sanji battled Admiral Ronin's clone-army with speed faster than thunder. Robin, Nami, Usopp, and Brook held the island's western side with Chopper summoning a tsunami of medicine bombs.
But at the heart of it all—was Luffy.
He leapt.
And clashed fists with Gravemind in the air.
Haki collided with darkness.
The impact shattered ten ships instantly, forming a whirlpool around them.
"You don't deserve the future!" Gravemind roared.
"I am the future!" Luffy shouted, slamming his fist into Gravemind's chest.
Below, Hancock began walking to the battlefield, carrying Lian in a glowing shield of haki and love. Her sisters followed behind, the Kuja now infused with the child's radiating energy.
The battle was turning.
But Gravemind wasn't done.
With a roar, he pulled from the water the Calypso Soul Core—now blood-red and screaming.
"I'll rewrite fate!"
He slammed it into the sea—and time bent again.
The ocean froze.
Ships cracked mid-motion.
Straw Hats paused.
Luffy gasped—stuck in place.
But then…
The wind moved.
A baby's cry rang out across the sea.
Lian's Haki exploded.
And time began to flow again—faster, stronger.
Luffy smiled, teeth sharp.
"Thanks, son."
He powered up once more—Gear Fifth: Sun God Mode—now fused with Lian's pulse.
His entire body glowed white-gold. His voice echoed across time.
And with one final roar, he slammed King Kong God Pistol into Gravemind.
The dark heir screamed as he was sent flying through four ships, crashing into his own throne, and vanishing beneath the sea.
The storm broke.
The fires dimmed.
And the sun rose again.
The war was over—for now.
On the shore, Luffy landed beside Hancock and held her and their son close, both trembling and alive.
He kissed her forehead.
"I'm here," he whispered.
"And he's safe," she replied.
Zoro dropped nearby, bleeding but smiling. Sanji collapsed beside Nami, exhausted but proud. Chopper treated Brook's fractured skull while Franky repaired Sunny's broken mast.
Robin sat on a rock and looked up.
"This was only the first war," she said quietly. "The future… isn't written yet."
Luffy looked at Lian, now sleeping peacefully in Hancock's arms.
"I'll protect him," he said.
"Forever."
