Chapter 89 - You Think I'm Afraid of Whitebeard?

SWISH!

Alucard vanished in an instant. When he reappeared, he hovered above everyone like a soaring roc.

"Look out!" Crassien yelled, warning his crew.

In less than a second, Alucard fired. Casull discharged multiple shots, instantly riddling the members of the Gold Shark Pirates like sieves.

"You bastard!" Crassien roared, leaping forward to confront Alucard. He clasped his hands together, his combined fists turning black, as if encased in armor.

'Armament Haki? That makes sense. How else would he survive in the New World without knowing this technique?'

"Die, brat!"

Crassien leaped even higher than Alucard, bringing his Haki-coated fists down like thunder hammers. But Alucard raised Jackal, which he'd held in his hand but hadn't fired until now, aiming it directly at Crassien's fists.

FIRE!

BANG!

A massive gunshot echoed through the bar. Many pirates and residents hiding outside heard the sound, mistaking it for a cannon firing.

Crassien's body slammed into a corner of the bar, shattering countless tables and chairs with his massive frame. But compared to humans, Fish-Men's bodies were much tougher; the splintered wood caused him no harm. The problem, however, was his hands.

After a moment, Crassien, crumpled in the corner, felt a searing pain. He looked down to see both his palms mangled into raw flesh! Bloody white bones protruded, looking like fresh meat from a slaughterhouse.

"My—my hands! My hands, noooo!!" Crassien screamed in agony, unable to believe the power of that black gun.

How could this happen? He'd even dared to fight Marine Vice Admirals.

Under the cover of Armament Haki, just one shot had utterly destroyed both his hands. How was this possible?!

"Casings made of pure silver, specially processed alloy, loaded with Marvells Chemical Cartridge N.N.A.9, fitted with consecrated mercury bullets!" Alucard bared his vampiric fangs, displaying the black gun, Jackal, before Crassien. "Did you really think your meager Haki could withstand its power?"

"Shut up!" Ignoring his mangled hands, Crassien charged at Alucard again. He was a veteran of many battles; he wouldn't run from something like this.

Alucard pushed the chamber, switching to Casull, and fired continuously. Crassien rapidly dodged the bullets within the bar, steadily closing in on Alucard.

"Fish-Man Karate! Leg Cutter!"

Crassien unleashed a powerful kick at Alucard's lower body. But suddenly, he felt something grab his extended leg. He looked down to see a hand emerge from the shadow on the ground, wearing the same white glove as Alucard, but with an arm formed from shadow, grasping his kicking leg.

"In your haste, you forgot to use Observation Haki? Or perhaps you only know Armament and not Observation? Well, it doesn't matter anyway."

Alucard's black gun, Jackal, was reloaded and pressed against Crassien's forehead. "I'm not interested in your blood. You can go straight to hell."

As the black gun, which had mangled his hands, pressed against his forehead, Crassien finally succumbed to his inner terror, his eyes wide. "W-wait, do you know my captain, my—my Pop, who he is?"

Alucard chuckled softly, "Whitebeard. So what?"

"Since you know, you'd best let me go! This entire region is the territory of my Whitebeard Pirates! If you kill me, you'll absolutely—"

BANG!

Crassien's head exploded into a bloody mess the instant the bullet fired. His large body collapsed, signaling the end of the fight.

"So what if he is?" Alucard's fangs gleamed, his eyes glinting menacingly as he looked at the Fish-Man's corpse on the ground. "Do you think I'm afraid of Whitebeard?"

When Alucard walked out of the bar, many pirates who had been lingering outside rushed in after seeing him leave. Upon seeing Crassien's headless corpse, which was still identifiable due to the distinct features of a Fish-Man's body, they were instantly terrified.

The pirates fled the bar one after another. This was Whitebeard's territory, and one of Whitebeard's subordinate pirates had been killed here. For the locals, there was no more explosive news.

In less than two hours, the news that the Gold Shark Pirates, a crew under the Whitebeard Pirates, had been completely wiped out spread throughout the entire town of New Kaba.

On the other hand, Alucard didn't immediately set sail. He had been drifting at sea for almost a week; shouldn't he properly enjoy finding land? Besides, the companion service there wasn't bad, was it? The women were quite high quality too...

Zinn, the bar owner, was both excited and terrified upon hearing of Crassien's death. How was he going to explain that one of Whitebeard's men died in his establishment?!

Sure enough, the next day, by evening, which should have been the bar's peak hours, it remained completely empty.

Although the body had been dealt with, the air still seemed to carry a strong scent of blood. With Whitebeard's man dying on Whitebeard's territory, who would dare patronize the place now?

"Manager, we found something." A waiter handed a bounty poster to Zinn.

Zinn took it, froze in place, and then screamed a few seconds later, "What?! A bounty of 200 million Berries!!"
