Chapter 35 - Chapter 35 - A Fall and a Revelation

I frowned at my computer screen, scrolling through the research papers I'd downloaded yesterday. The team's lithium-ion efficiency problem had kept me up most of the night, but I was certain I'd found a solution by approaching it from a neurological perspective rather than purely chemical.

My phone buzzed with an email notification from Mason. I skimmed it quickly:

"Juliana, where are you? Miles is on the warpath. We need the schematics you promised."

I sighed and checked my watch. It was nearly noon—I'd lost track of time in the library. I needed to finish this research before heading back to face the team's skepticism. They already thought I was slacking off, but they'd understand once I showed them my solution.

Mason Coleman deleted the email he'd just sent to Juliana without a second thought. She'd been with the company barely a month and already acted like she owned the place, disappearing for hours when the rest of them were working themselves to exhaustion.
