Juliana's POV
The private hospital room felt more like a war room as I sat up in bed, reviewing the information on the tablet Nathaniel had brought me. Claire Pierce had left an hour ago, and we'd been strategizing ever since.
"Hugo's last words," I mused, scrolling through Claire's report. "He tried to tell me something about my real mother."
Nathaniel sat beside me, his shoulder brushing mine as he leaned in to see the screen. "And now we know Dylan has the same information."
"Which means he's even more dangerous than we thought." I set the tablet down, turning to face Nathaniel. "What else did Claire tell you when you stepped outside?"
His eyes met mine, dark and serious. "Hugo spoke to the paramedic before he died. He said, 'Tell Juliana that Dylan knows. Cover his tuition, and he'll tell you everything.'"
I felt a chill run through me. Even dying, Hugo was playing games. "He wanted me to pay for Dylan's education in exchange for information?"
