Chapter 11 - chapter 11

Jessica took a breather. Was Jonathan attempting to seduce me?

Jessica felt a naughty little devil stirring inside her. Felix despised other men and couldn't take it when Pierre touched Jessica. Jessica wonders what would happen if he mistook her for Jonathan's lover. Perhaps he will lose interest in Jessica and abandon her.

Jessica's ticket to freedom might have been Jonathan. Jessica looked up at Jonathan, a warm smile on her face, encouraging him to flirt. They'd lose eye contact and then look up at each other, Jessica smiling or biting my lip, and he'd simply grin like a jackass at Jessica. Jessica wondered if Felix was too preoccupied with his own thoughts to see what was going on in her head. Jessica would make sure she was thinking about Jonathan throughout our meeting later, even if he didn't notice right now.

As everyone was departing after the lecture, Jonathan approached Jessica. He asked, "Hey, I was wondering if you wanted to meet together after college and do some studying or stuff?"

"I enjoy a variety of different things. It's possible." Felix stormed into the lecture hall, interrupting Jessica in the middle of her sentence.

"I need to speak with you right now, Miss Madison." Felix muttered this while gazing at Jonathan as if he was about to rip off his head.

Sweetly "Perhaps we could chat about this after school," Jessica proposed, batting her eyelashes.

"That would be wonderful," Jonathan smiled as he slung his rucksack over his shoulder while grinning at Jessica. "Sadly Mr. Hopper, Miss. Madison has an important meeting after college today with me," Felix remarked, his jaw twitching slightly.

Jonathan told Jessica, "Well, I'm free tomorrow."

"Come along Miss. Madison, we need to chat," Felix grabbed Jessica's arm and began pushing her along the row of seats.

When they left the lecture hall, Felix didn't even let go of Jessica's arm. Jessica smiled to herself, satisfied with a minor triumph. Jessica smugly slipped out of his hands and strolled into the empty classroom ahead of him. Felix quietly closed and locked the door behind him.

"What's the matter, my love?" Jessica inquired inquisitively.

"Would you like that boy to die?" Felix stated sternly.

"You can't stop me from talking to Jonathan because I have two classes with him, Felix." Jessica replied as she sat on the desk. Felix approached Jessica calmly, his dark gaze icy and cruel. Jessica could sense his wrath building and falling inside him.

"I will kill that boy because I will not share you with anyone," Felix said quietly, kneeling down and bringing Jessica's chin to his face. " Please don't make me angry. I know you're angry with me, but you have to understand that when I'm angry, people get hurt." He said as he stroked Jessica's hair.

"Are you going to hurt me?" Jessica asked Felix, whose face was inches away from hers.

"Never," Felix said with a shake of his head. " Because you are my mate, I could never harm you. I could never hurt you, but I would murder Jonathan if you did something horrible with him. Anyone who threatened you would be killed by me."

Jessica's whole body screamed for Felix now that he was so near to her. His lovely eyes locked onto Jessica's, and he came in close, lightly brushing his lips against hers. Jessica remained still. Jessica couldn't tell if she was terrified or excited.

"You have no clue how much I want you Jess," Felix murmured quietly as he pulled away.

The tense atmosphere in the room was intolerable. Felix walked to the other side of the classroom, while Jessica sat very still on her desk, trying not to think if what had just happened could be considered a kiss. Jessica's entire body ached for Felix, and she couldn't figure out why. Felix was a complete jerk! They had only just met, yet being alone in the classroom with him was driving her insane. Jessica was torn between wanting to melt into his arms and letting go of her feelings for this stranger and being afraid of them.

Was a vampire mate thing? Is it possible that Felix emitted a pheromone that made Jessica mushy in the head anytime he was physically near her? Jessica squirmed uncomfortably on her desk, unsure of how she'd get through this.

Felix stood in the back of the room, staring at Jessica. Felix was leaning against the back wall, his hands in his pockets, and he was just staring. Jessica's skin started to itch once more. It wasn't a scratchy itch like you get with an allergic response. It was the kind of itch you couldn't get rid of.

It was completely infuriating.

Jessica pulled herself off the desk and walked anxiously over to the window, unable to sit motionless any longer. Jessica stood inside looking at the university grounds, staring at the grounds guys and gardeners who were hard at work trying to clean up the Halloween mess. Those frat boys were the ones who created that mess, as well as the one inside the classroom. Why was it Jessica, not Sarah Turner, who was deceived into marrying Felix? "An oracle informed me exactly when I would see you," Felix added, interrupting Jessica's stream of thinking. "You are an angel sent to guide me out of my darkness."

"What type of darkness are you talking about?" Jessica inquired.

Felix bowed his head, his dark eyes hidden under his bowed head. He explained, "My life is pretty twisted up Jess- it's difficult to describe, and I don't want to scare you." "Felix, I'm a tough cookie. I don't require protection "Jessica gave a response.

"That's good, since it might come in handy at some point. Being a vampire is harsh where I hail from..." Jessica voice trailing off for a few second and she swears she heard the ground underneath them groaning, "But I am confident we will get over this period, if you generously decide to stop teasing me."

Tormenting? Jessica wondered quickly how she had been teasing him. Felix was able to read her thoughts.

"That-'boy'" Felix said solemnly, unable to say James' name.

Jessica exclaimed, "Oh."

"Have you already forgotten about him, my love?" Felix sarcastically inquired. Jessica snarled, "No!"

"You should," Felix said, "it would be much better for his and my health."

Compelled Jessica looked up from the window to see Felix staring at her, his eyes limitless pools of dark amber that suffocated her completely. Jessica's body erupted in flames, her memories of last night became fresh and raw once more, her breath froze in her throat, and she jerked her sight away from him. Jessica felt his dissatisfaction and fury for a brief minute, as if she had rejected him and pushed him away. There appeared to be a strong desire for them to be together.

Jessica despised Felix's treatment of her; it was torturous.

Jessica, unable to handle the tensions any longer, stated, "I need to get some air and have some lunch." Jessica was about to proceed towards the door when Felix stepped in front of her, his body directly in front of hers, obstructing her route.

"Please-" Jessica gulped, "Felix." ""I'm feeling it too," Felix murmured, "the yearning, the burning... This is the first time I've ever felt this way about someone. I'm starting to think I'm going insane."

Felix drew closer to Jessica, his body pressing against hers. Jessica couldn't think at that point; all she could do was feel him, feel the heat from his body, and smell his flesh. Jessica's skin began to throb, like if it were about to burst unless he touched her.

"Felix, I want y-"

The door behind them opened, and Pierre walked in with a picnic cooler before Jessica could complete her statement. "I packed lunch!" he exclaimed, holding out the picnic cooler.

"Great- lunch," Felix said as he took a step away from Jessica. The instant Felix walked away, Jessica's heart and body felt completely empty. Jessica watched as he moved closer to Pierre, increasing the distance between them.

"Jess, it's critical that you eat," Felix advised.

"Great. I'm famished." Jessica stated unequivocally.

Jessica stood there watching Felix open the cooler box that Pierre had given him.

"Now Jess, I need you to be...open-minded," Felix added, his words carefully chosen. "Why?" Jessica was the one who inquired. Was he a weird enthusiast or something?

Felix then took a medical bag of blood from the cooler box with care. Jessica glanced at the bag, speechless.

"You can't force me to do anything. I'm not going to, "Jessica muttered, her gaze fixed on the dark crimson liquid in Felix's hand.

With a sigh, she approached Jessica, waving the bag in front of her. Jessica felt the back of her throat and mouth burn as she watched the heavy liquid spin and flow in the bag. Jessica took a cautious step backwards into a desk.

Felix then ripped open the package and placed it under Jessica's nose, causing her fangs to erupt into her mouth for the second time. Jessica covered her lips, embarrassed, and bolted to the rear of the classroom with incredible speed. Jessica's eyes were burning and tears were streaming down her cheeks.

Jessica was grieving for the loss of her humanity, which was a bit absurd. Jessica was no longer a typical girl. Jessica nervously rubbed her new pointed teeth in a macabre fascination. Jessica's eyes welled up with tears.

"Can you tell me what you've done to me?" Jessica, who was crying, inquired of Felix.

Felix hurriedly returned the blood to the cooler and took a carton of juice from the shelf.

"Please accept my apologies, my love. Instead, give this a shot." Felix stated this as he tossed the apple juice carton to Jessica.
