She went back downstairs and took her bag at the desk that was meant for staff
Stepping into the restaurant with him, she glanced around calmly. She looked calm, but it was all a pretence inwardly she wasn't feeling too good. She had been avoiding going to restaurants places like this because it brought back unpleasant memories. She is the only child of Nelson's family so going to a big scale restaurant wasnt a tgat much of a big deal to her she had the look, a good reputation, and also a good family background before the bankruptcy took place.
Thinking that she would be this calm two years later would be a little shocking because she was the most arrogant and willful heiress two years ago
She doesn't give a fuck and will tell you the fact straight up. She was her father's pride, so anyone who offended her in her presence would be dealt with immediately she never cares about the outcome and will do whatever she feels like because her father was her backer. They sat down facing the entrance he gave her the menu to pick what she wanted to eat. She collected it and looked at it and selected three different dishes, She wasn't feeling much hungry, so her mind wasn't really there she just wanted to get done with the lunch
" Are you okay? you looked stressed. " He asked, trying to start a conversation
"I'm fine." She replied with a little bit of smile on her face
"So when are you leaving? I know you are not from this city, You came here to work, right?"
" Yes, I will be going back to Las Vegas next week. That's where I came from, " Ahe said, sipping her juice
" I had some family problems and was short on funds, so I came here to work. Thankfully, I found your company, and you gave me a chance. I'm really grateful for that, Anthony. Thank you. "
"You don't need to thank me it was your determination that made me give you a chance, so you worked for it." He replied
" It's alright," Kate said while their order came. It looked appetising, and the aroma brought back her appetite
" Let's eat first," he said, smiling
" Yeah" She began eating she displayed a very good mannerism she looked very elegant while eating
His eyes rested on her, he can't even focus on the food, but he knew that she couldn't be his in this lifetime, so he just continued eating his eyes, always moving in her direction
"Kate? It's really you? what are you doing here?"
Kate looked up, trying to see who recognised her around here because she didn't really know the people here. Seeing it was her classmate from high school, she wondered what he was doing in this city
" Kate, we have been looking for you everywhere. Natalie is still searching around. You have been here all this while. " Looking at her, he asked looked for a sit and sat beside her
" How are you doing? No. how have you been doing?
what of Aunty? how is she?" he asked, looking very concerned
" She's fine, charles, and yes, I have been here. It was a prompt decision, which was why i didn't let you guys know, " She replied
Charles looked at her, knowing she had gotten more beautiful than before her every action brought elegance.
" How's Natalie doing? have you gotten married to her yet?" She asked jokingly
" How can that be? She has been searching for you everywhere. I proposed to her, and she accepted, but we haven't gotten married yet, though, " he said snorting while his face revealed pride
"You know her, you know how worried she could get most times. She said the wedding would wait until she found you and aunt. "
Kate sighed, knowing she had let her friend down. She didn't tell anyone she was leaving Las Vegas when she left there with her mother. They concealed their whereabouts because of the conflict and media. They didn't want the attention on them, so they decided to change their location.
" I'm doing fine charles you don't have to be this worried for me,"
"Are you kidding me, I shouldn't be worried, then Natalie would kill me. You know I can't do anything without her permission" Charles replied her his fiancee was his life and hie had been dating for the past five years now he loved her with all his heart and he don't dare go against her.
" I would have to let her know I met you here."
" No, you don't need to. I will be going back next week so we can all meet up then, " Kate told him
"Really? you aren't lying to me, right?"
" No, I am not. I'm starting college at the University of naveda, so I have to go back to Las Vegas. "
" That's nice. What of Aunty, then will she be coming home with you?"He asked her happily
" No, she's not coming back there she had already settled down here," She said to him, her mood turning sour
" Ohh, okay, that's nice," He said, then noticed someone sitting close to kate he nodded at him and then asked
" Who's this gentleman, kate?"
" I am sorry i forgot to introduce you guys," She said, surprised charles asked, Charles wasn't the one to meddle on others unless it's involved Natalie
" This is Mr. Kim, my former boss Anthony, meet charles, my close friend"
" Good day, Mr Kim. Thank you for taking care of kate all this while "
" It's my pleasure, please. kate was my very good employee, so it shouldn't be said that I took care of her while she was working under me because I also benefited from her " Anthony replied thinking of why he chose this restaurant.
