On a sunny day Hooni and Jerry were walking out from school after a pretty bad day in school and yup you wouldn't believe it who is the cause of it, yup its because of Hyung-Chul, and his friends knowing that if they try anything too physical Jerry who will have at least kill one of them, literally so they prank them while also leaving no clue or anything that it was them but enough of that, as Jerry and Hooni walk home. Jerry's face clearly shows frustration and Hooni wanting to get home to sleep the entire day.
"In the name of the Son and the Holy Spirit and God, help me control myself, because I think I'm going to catch a body." Jerry grumpy mumbled desperately holding himself together to not grab a knife and get one of them, Hooni seeing him gets a little worried but also curious about what he said in the first parts.
"Hey, I'm curious are you a believer or something? Yesterday when you came back from the church you talked about with me about God and stuff about it." Hooni said nervously but curious enough to try to keep a conversation with him, Jerry snapping back to reality from his grumpy mood
"Yeah, kinda. I believe in God now but I'm still trying to follow the way of Christian or something... I just started learning so I don't know much, right now. You should join me, we can learn together." Jerry relays as he takes out his phone to see his messages meanwhile Hooni looks down in shame when Jerry says that as they continue walking.
"I doubt he will want someone as pathetic as me around." Hooni said, quieter than a whisper which obviously Jerry didn't hear him.
"Yo, long time no seek you two, well mostly you Hooni haven't talked to you for almost 3 days now. But even so what a coincidence, did school end early for you two today?" Soorim said happily as he joined them walking along with them.
"Yeah, another student was caught hiding drugs again so school was called off on our failed excuse of a high school, but enough of that how was it in your day in school Soorim?" Jerry said nonchalant like it was just a normal tuesday as Hooni just nodded in agreement, acting like it's just another day in high school, as Jerry eyes locked in on the phone, texting to someone.
"Um. Good actually, a little concerned now about what you said but, all in all, it was all good. But damn I can't imagine being in high school." Soorim spoken happily as the 3 continue walking as Soorim just talk and talk, Jerry responding back a little and Hooni just listening and nodding for some times something caught Soorim attention, he smile and walk to it.
"Hey guys let's stop here." It was an arcade Jerry and Hooni looked in interest.
"Damn, when was it the last time i went to an arcade or even seen one." Jerry said he remembers back in Texas how he will play video games when he was way younger. "I could say the same." Hooni said softly, smiling a little, he remembers his mother would always give him, her spare change so he could play video games, back then even tho it was just a couple of coins it made him smile helping him escape from reality.
"Let's go hang out in there for a bit, huh guys?" Soorim said happily as he is already walking towards the arcade, Hooni for some reason follows along but then they stop as Jerry doesn't follow along.
"Sorry man but I can't, I just got accepted to a job I applied to, caught you guys later, okay?" Jerry said casually as he waved a goodbye to them they waved back as Soorim and Hooni walked inside the arcade but then Hooni just realized something, why is he here with him, he's broke as hell he couldn't afford to waste money on games right now, or really ever Hooni for couple second just breath softly calming himself down.
"Alright relax it's just an arcade it can't be expensive right." Hooni thought to himself as he walked alongside Soorim his eyes shrunk a little seeing the price of the game Soorim picked.
"Holy moly it's expensive, 500 won a round, why aren't arcade 100 won a round anymore, 500 won is too much?!" Hooni screams to himself in his mind, already he's thinking ways to get out of this, like pretending to lost his wallet or pretending that he have to do something at home, but then he didn't want to do it thinking he's going to make Soorim mad at him and the last thing he wants is getting on the landlord son hating list, already Hooni imagining all the things that can happen to him if he's on Soorim bad side.
~Meanwhile back on Jerry.~
Inside the building Jerry holds his phone nervously and wonders why the interviewer hasn't arrived yet it's been 10 minutes already, Jerry watches some short videos but after a few minutes on his open, he puts his phone away in his pocket and starts observing the empty room she finds it strange that it's a weekday and yet there's no one here, Jerry just thinks that maybe this company isn't really know yet, or it's a new company or maybe the company is always like that a few minutes later the door opens and someone comes out of it making Jerry instinctively shrink in her seat after all he's like Hooni but even so he's not good at communicating much.
The lady who appears to be the interviewer, she looks around middle age around her late 30th have an average built body, black hair, white skin, brown eyes, she doesn't seem to wear makeup at least not a lot, and wearing casual clothes, blue jeans, black shoes and a red shirt, she wasn't beautiful as a celebrity or models or that one time you see that lady working as a cash register, but she isn't someone you will call ugly as well, and she did have that charm on her, if you hang out with her enough you'll feel some sort of attractive towards her in a way.
The interviewer Walks to Jerry and apologizes to him for being late due to fieldwork, whatever that means, while Jerry begins to observe her attentively then the interviewer greets him more properly and introduces herself.
"Ms.Yun a representative of the company." Ms. Yun spoken professionally, while Jerry holds his hands together, rubbing his fingers against each other's feelings nervous, not knowing what to do or say.
"Come on keep it together Jerry." Jerry screams to himself in his mind trying not to look, too nervous tho he has to be honest to himself he expected someone to be more serious and kinda scary or angry looking, instead she looks like a cool, chill, Aunt.
"Okay Jerry let's begin with your interview." Sitting face to face Ms. Yun prepared to start the interview.
"Judging by your records you're still underage, so obviously you don't have any experience, tho you are proven to be smart enough to do the job, thanks to someone related of yours that is an old friend of mine, and I do own him one. But how do I know you just won't... You know. Give up and quit the next day?" Ms. Yun spoke waiting for his answer, to see how he would reply.
Jerry feels the need to prove himself that he can deliver on her promises, so with whatever determination he has, tries to state that he won't give up, but sadly, he suddenly starts to laugh due to remembering a funny video in his mind, Ms. Yun silently watches him as Jerry realizes he's screwed up and now believes everything is over but Ms. Yun just ignores his episode and continues with the interview, question after question, until the late one.
"Alright Jerry's final question what will it be your annual salary?" Jerry not understanding due to still feeling and thinking embarrassedly of his episode a moment ago, Jerry hesitates to come up with a number, and thus the interview comes to an end.
~Sometimes later.~
It's been 3 days and no calls, email, texts, nothing indeed it was sad, miserable week, he lays down on his bed, facing up the ceiling in with a poker face, meanwhile Soorim and Hooni watching in worry for they're friend, Soorim then decided to speak up to try to cheer him up.
"Don't worry about it too much, my mom in her younger days went to 20 places a day just to find a job... At least that's what Mom told me." Soorim said happily but whispered on the last parts, Hooni watching not knowing what to say just nod what Soorim is saying.
"He's right... There are plenty of jobs for you to get, and besides you're young, you have time to go look and find a job." Hooni said softly and nervously not used to, trying to comfort people or even trying to cheer someone up.
"Y-Yeah your right, I'm a young man, I got time it's not like I'm starving, or in debt or like I'm late behind to pay my rent." Soorim yells yeah, in victory while Hooni does the same but feels like 3 arrows just hit his heart when Jerry said that.
