Chapter 5 - terrifying spiritual power

Won't you see me? She doesn't have time???

Edward's mind nearly stopped working. He stared at the maid, who stared back shyly, not saying a word. The maid didn't dare lie. So, did that mean that stupid, man-obsessed woman really said that? Why? How did this happen?

Edward's mind was filled with question marks. He was prepared for that disgusting woman to bother him, but what was this situation? Was she busy?

Did your mistress not have time? "She's very busy?" Edward asked suspiciously.

"Mademoiselle recently started studying, and the Duke invited the scholar Camille to tutor her." The maid's face flushed as she answered. Camille, the famous young scholar in the capital, was not only intelligent and agile, but also handsome.

"What?" Edward was even more surprised. Everyone knew that this foolish lady was ignorant and incompetent, acting like a joke everywhere she went. Later, the Duke banned her from attending royal banquets because of this. But now, was she actually studying?

At that moment, a series of footsteps were heard coming from the doorway.

"Your Highness, ha ha, hello!" The person who entered wasn't just anyone, but Duke Jourdain.

"Your Highness." Edward stood politely. Even the Emperor himself had to be somewhat respectful in front of the powerful Duke Jourdain, let alone a prince like him.

"I'm here to visit Miss Claire." Edward said, looking a little uncomfortable, "But Miss Claire seems busy."

"Oh?" "Is she busy?" Jordan asked, looking a little surprised. He turned to face the maid at Edward's side. "What's going on? What is Claire doing?" "Madam, she's currently reading in the greenhouse." The maid replied in a quiet voice. "Oh, Your Highness, please follow me, haha. Let's stop for some leisurely afternoon tea." Jordan laughed cheerfully.

"Thank you, sir." Edward nodded with a smile and followed the Duke. You couldn't offend that energetic old man. He controlled more than half the army, and his grandson, Eric Hale, was the commander of the Griffin Division, which directly protected the royal family.

Edward was entranced by the scene in the greenhouse. In a sea of beautiful flowers sat a beautiful little girl with lustrous golden hair. She leisurely sipped her black tea, and after finishing it, she put the teacup down, lay back in the rocking chair, and began reading a book, rocking gently back and forth. It was beyond relaxing.

This was her definition of "no time"? The corner of Edward's mouth twitched.

"Claire~" Duke Jordan saw at a glance the book Claire was holding. It was about human geography; more precisely, it was about the Hale family fiefdom. This child of his was truly learning! Jordan was deeply satisfied.
