Chapter 18 - Why is this Brat so heavy?

After the emperor left, Ergou entered the courtyard as Liyun was holding the card and reading the groom's name, 'Luo Tian.'

Tian? That name reeks of main character. Am I really the fucking villain?

"Ergou, come, What news do you bring me? I hope it's good."

Liyun said while putting the card down on the tea table that he didn't want to become a villain, he won't last with schemes and politics, and he was a normal man who wishes nothing more but death upon the protagonist.

"Master, I had sent my most capable man to investigate the whole Luo Mansion. Luo Fan was a great general under the Emperor who died while quelling the northern Frost wilder beast. His only son, Luo Tian, was born… Well, stupid, the emperor has decreed your maid Luo Yan to be his future wife as a royal gift, and the wedding is tomorrow."

Ergou replied while kneeling. Li Mei, hearing the news, was shocked; she was fetching her prince some steamed rice, but hearing the news, she almost stumbled on her robe.

"What else?"

Liyun asked as he grabbed the steamed rice before Li Mei could mess it up. Although he was slim, Immortal Pink Blood is like surgical magic; it will never let him be an ugly fat pig no matter what he eats.

"The one being dragged inside was Young Master Luo Tian," Ergou reported. "After hearing about his marriage, he ran off to the market stalls to buy… grass, of all things. The Luo guards had to drag him back before he humiliated himself any further. And more importantly—the Emperor himself, along with the True Disciple of the Sword Mountain Sect, hasbeen invited as the honored guest of the Luo family's wedding banquet. Rumor has it that disciple is a late-stage Foundation Building genius."

Ergou reported that Sword Mountain Sect is more powerful than the Tang Empire; it's powerful enough to rival three northern region empires combined: Tang, Fen, and Long.

" Oh? "

Liyun raised an eyebrow hearing the news. His father gave the card to him; it means he didn't want to go to this wedding and was giving this Luo family some face by sending him.

But how could a mere Luo clan attract a True Disciple of the Sword Mountain Sect? What's the catch?

"Anything else?"

Liyun asked as he saw the kneeling Ergou still wanted to say something.

"Master," Ergou replied seriously, "as you know, our Tang Empire sits at the northernmost edge of the entire Northern Region. The Frost Wilder Beasts are becoming more aggressive these days. I suspect the frost in the mountains is melting. When the beasts move south, most common folk will flee further down. Armies are already being raised in the other empires. But… Emperor Tang is late in his preparations this time."

"It doesn't matter. Alright, tomorrow, you will accompany me to the wedding, Li Mei. From now on, you're the chief maid of this courtyard."

Liyun nodded his head, then instructed Ergou to take his leave with an acknowledging bow, and Li Mei was over the moon with happiness. To be named chief maid was no small honor—such a position meant access to far more cultivation resources than any ordinary servant could ever dream of.

Li Mei was fifteen this year, and she has already broken through to the mid-level of the Qi Refining stage, so she can be considered a small genius on her own.

Far north in the Tang Empire, an old man and a young boy of the age of fifteen or sixteen were walking in the snow. The province they were in is called 'Frost Province,' the last province of the Tang Empire before the 'Eternal Frost Mountain Range.'

"Elder, are you sure we can find that here? It's said to be a lost relic of the Taboo Period.

The young man with a white robe and a peerless face asked; his face was arrogant, and his eyes looked as if he was used to looking down upon the world.

"Don't worry, True Disciple Ximen! Sect Master has sent you here; it means he is confident in your abilities to find it."

The old man was looking around with a calm expression, and although he was saying shit like this, he was freezing cold.

Fuck this sect master, fuck true disciple, I just want to go back to the sect; they'll kill me someday with stupid plans like this.

The old man grumbled under his breath. Though he was an elder of the Sword Mountain Sect, here he was being treated like a low-class protector, no better than a servant for this little runt. Of course he was dissatisfied with such treatment.

"I feel like we need to go deeper, Elder. Tomorrow is the wedding. I heard the bride is beautiful, while the groom is stupid. Hehe… maybe I can take the bride before the groom? Let's head back for now and save some energy for the wedding."

The boy licked his lips, his eyes brimming with perversion. In truth, he wasn't here for relics at all—he was here to devour women. Sword Mountain Sect was a men-only sect where lust was forbidden. So whenever he left the mountain, he indulged in his filth without restraint.

Sigh, this fucker, always thinking with his dick.

The old man thought this inside his head but still nodded calmly. Taking the boy, he disappeared.

This old man is called Chen Tao. I am a mid-tier soul-transforming expert, yet now transporting arrogant bastards like this has become my fucking job.

While carrying the young disciple, Chen Tao was running at full speed and muttering to himself. In one sharp maneuver, he almost dropped the boy from his grip, scaring him shitless. But Chen Tao didn't slow down—he was confident he could reach the capital of the Tang Empire by tomorrow morning.
