Shigure couldn't pull Obito back once he slipped into Kamui.
His ocular interference could delay Obito's phasing—but it couldn't stop him from activating his space-time Ninjutsu entirely.
As Obito vanished, Shigure's expression turned cold.
He shifted his gaze toward the source of the explosions in the village.
A heartbeat later—
A surge of Chakra burst from his body like a shockwave.
Every Shinobi in Kirigakure stiffened.
It felt as if a massive boulder had dropped onto their chests—crushing their lungs, suffocating their breath. Even veterans of the Bloody Mist instinctively turned toward the direction of that overwhelming pressure.
A ray of light shot across the sky—
Meanwhile, at the docks—
Hidan and Kakuzu of Akatsuki—having infiltrated from Takigakure—were cutting their way through the defending Mist-nin.
Hidan's triple-bladed scythe carved arcs of red through the air, blood spraying with every motion.
Kakuzu's monstrous threads and elemental blasts tore through squads one after another—merciless and efficient.
"Hmph! Is this all the Hidden Mist Village has to offer?" Kakuzu scoffed.
"A village like this—how did it end up with three Tailed Beasts?"
Even Mist shinobi who had received power from Shigure struggled to withstand the duo.
Hidan's brutal taijutsu, combined with his immortal body, devastated even the Yuki Clan shinobi—descendants of the Senju—leaving two elite warriors broken and barely clinging to life.
Mei Terumī fought desperately, lava and boiling mist clashing against the Akatsuki's relentless assault. But it was still two against one, and their techniques were bizarre—foreign to anything she'd encountered before.
Especially Hidan.
Three kunai lodged deep in his skull…
Yet he laughed.
Moved.
Killed.
An undying nightmare drenched in blood.
This was beyond Mei Terumī's understanding.
"Hehe… got it!"
Swish!
Hidan's scythe flashed past her throat—barely missing a fatal cut.
She twisted away just in time, taking only a shallow graze.
But it was enough.
Hidan's smile widened with a crazed hunger.
He stared straight at the Mizukage.
"I've punished plenty of people before…but never a Kage!"
"Today's gonna be fun!"
He raised his scythe, ready to ingest her blood—
Whoosh—!!
A sharp gust split the air—followed by a deafening crash.
Kakuzu, who had just grabbed a Mist-nin by the neck, was kicked into the ground, leaving a massive crater.
A brilliant golden glow spilled outward as a single figure slowly stepped through the settling dust.
A shockwave rippled from the impact, blasting the nearby shinobi backward as they struggled to brace themselves.
Then a voice—cold and unwavering:
"You two… are you seeking death?"
The glare faded.
Shigure stood before them.
The wounded Kirigakure felt their eyes brighten—hope had arrived.
Shigure surveyed the battlefield.
Dozens of Mist shinobi lay bleeding.
Seven—maybe eight—already dead.
All Chūnin or Jōnin.
The Genin had no place in this massacre.
Shigure lifted a hand—Transformation Healing Technique.
Water tendrils spiraled out of him, wrapping around the injured. Wounds closed and breaths steadied instantly.
He frowned.
"Why aren't Kuji and the others here?"
A Yuki Clan pursuer spoke quickly:
"They received word that you were missing, Lord Shigure… They went searching for you!"
Searching… for him.
He exhaled sharply.
If Kuji and the others were here—none of this would've happened.
"Who the hell are you, kid?" Hidan asked, smirking without fear.
He was amused—Shigure's speed and skill intrigued him.
But suddenly—
Dark threads burst from the ground at Shigure's feet, shooting away before weaving together—
Kakuzu reformed, his face darker than the night sky.
That kid had stepped on him… like he was garbage.
"Hahahaha! Hey, Kakuzu! You know he stomped you just now, right?
Like an ant!"
Hidan's mockery deepened the fury twisting Kakuzu's expression.
Shigure glanced at Mei Terumī, then his eyes snapped toward Hidan—
He sensed it.
Hidan had Mei's blood.
"Tch! Kid, you wait right there.
Once I kill your Mizukage—then we'll have fun!"
Hidan raised his scythe—
And in that instant—
A chakra thread shot out, piercing his cheeks and sewing them tight shut.
His eyes bulged in shock.
He tried to swallow—tried to speak—nothing.
A tap came to his shoulder.
He looked up—
CRACK!!
Shigure's fist smashed into his face.
Bone crumpled. Blood sprayed.
Hidan blasted backward—slammed through a wall—and disappeared into the rubble.
"Lightning Release: False Darkness!"
A spear of lightning roared toward Shigure from behind.
He only snorted.
He spun—one hand seal—and water erupted around Kakuzu, coiling him like serpents.
A Water Dragon surged forth, jaws snapping shut around him.
Then Shigure unleashed raw chakra from his palm—
Tearing through the lightning as if it were paper.
The Mist shinobi stared wide-eyed.
To destroy a ninjutsu with pure chakra force—
Just how strong was he?
Boom!
Kakuzu's body blasted apart under the Water Dragon's strike—only one arm escaped.
His last remaining heart pulsed frantically, forcibly reassembling a new body.
He trembled—drenched in sweat.
Never before had he seen a shinobi like this.
This boy…
A living monster.
His oppressive presence was like meeting Hashirama Senju again—
a traumatic memory Kakuzu had hoped to forget.
"Run!!"
Kakuzu didn't hesitate—he turned and bolted, terror in his eyes.
Hidan, crawling out of debris, stared—
Kakuzu fleeing in pure panic?
He still needed him to fix his mouth!!!
