Chapter 33 - THIRTY-THREE

 "So I wasn't imagining things. You really called me caused you missed me and was dying to see my face."

 Yvonne danced into Alexander's office, her mood genuinely ecstatic. Twirling her hair around her fingers, she made her way to the couch, dropped her phone, bag and car keys and then walked over to the window side where Alexander was standing.

 "Here I am," she pat him on the back, holding his shoulders in an attempt to get him to turn and face her. "Here's my face. You can stare at it all you want so you don't miss me when I'm gone. Come on. Go ahead. Don't be shy."

 Holding back a scoff, he turned around to face her, the look on his face in no way similar to hers. He had indeed asked to see her but 'missing' her wasn't the right word to describe the emotion he felt when he made that call.

 "I didn't think you'd actually show up," he glanced at his wristwatch as he walked past her to return to his chair. "But here you are."
