"You look like I forced you to come here. Can you at least smile?"
Alexander adjusted his tie then shifted the corner of his lips, still unable to make an actual smile. He caught Yvonne frowning at him and then wiggled his eyebrows, doing his best to keep his expression as neutral as possible.
"Shall we?" Yvonne slid her arms into his and gave him a light nudge. "We shall, okay?"
He cleared his throat then began walking, his steps calculated to match Yvonne's pace. They were only a couple of steps away from the hall the party was taking place and Alexander was going to need a whole lot than a couple of deep breaths to calm himself down and mentally prepare himself for whatever was about to come next.
They took their first steps into the hall, Yvonne immediately in awe. Even Alexander had to admit, his father outdid himself with the party, the theme and caliber of guest he could immediately spot impressive.
