Chapter 60 - SIXTY

Saturday arrived heavy with expectation.

After an eventful Friday with her day spent racking her brains for her final exams and her night spent in a club, dancing and screaming her lungs out for a couple of hours before it all came to a halt, Lana woke up later than usual. She got freshened up, replied Andrew's texts from the previous night and then sat cross-legged on her bed, hair tumbling over her shoulders, the silver-trimmed invitation spread open in her lap.

Despite already having a decent grasp of what the party was going to look like, she'd looked it up online again. Three times, actually.

The articles were everywhere. The event of the season. Photographs of past years showed glimmering chandeliers, red carpets, celebrities draped in couture gowns, CEOs flanked by security and flashbulbs. The kind of spectacle she'd only ever seen on gossip pages. Despite Thomas' party being huge, it still felt like nothing compared to it.

And she had an invitation.
