JK's POV: I kept trying to talk to him for all day long. But he is not even looking at me. What on earth happened to him? I must find out.
As he was a third year transfer student, he didn't have to attend any academic class. He finished all his courses last year. But to find out what happened to his Rival, he decided to join the class. Seeing him entering the class, Mingyu pulled him to sit with him.
Ming: Man! I thought you'll never come back.
JK: (Smiled) Nah! I had to come back. How can I leave you guys alone, buddy?
Yah, JK and Mingyu were quite good friends before JK left.
Ming: Leave us alone or your Rival alone?
JK: Well, both! But what happened to him, man? Is he possessed or something? There is no other way he would act so calm and quiet.
Ming: You don't know about it? He had been like this since last year.
JK: But why?
Ming: I'm not really sure but there is a rumor about him. That says he had a lover whom he loved with his everything. They were in relationship for 4 years, but later he was cheated and abandoned.
JK: What nonsense! He had lover for four years and I don't know anything about it? Don't joke!
Ming: I'm not joking. The whole college know about it. You can ask anyone.
JK: I know his schedule more than I know mine. There was nothing called DATE in his timetable.
Ming: It's because they dated secretly. With that genius brain of him, its not impossible to hide it away from everyone.
JK: OK, I agree to that but look at him! He is my SWORN ENEMY but still I can't disagree to one thing and that's... he's handsome AF. Which girl could afford to abandon him? Is she blind?
Ming: Well, rumors say, it was a boy.
JK: What!!!!! Impossible. Since when was he into boys? It has to be a rumor.
Ming: But I think he can attract a boy too. I mean... I didn't mean to prove someone gay when you think he's straight. I just wanted to say, he is attractive for a boy too. So, if the relationship didn't work as they said his ex boyfriend cheated on him, it should be the fault of that ex, not his.
Jungkook nodded.
Ming: Oh, another thing! He plays basketball as an ordinary player. He gave away his position from the nomination list of the national team.
JK: What?
Jungkook got up and banged the desk out of shock.
JK: What do you mean by gave away his position?
Ming: The literal meaning. He is not the captain anymore.
JK: And Mr Hoseok agreed to it?
Ming: He had to agree. The Principal passed the order. Tae showed him some kind of medical report, probably to fake his health condition. Moreover the transfer student is hella qualified.
JK: Transfer student? Who's that?
Ming: His name is Goff, transferred student from Japan.
JK: Well, he might be qualified but not more than me I guess. (whisper)
Ming: Did you say something?
JK: (smiled) Nothing. I gotta leave, Mingyu ah!
Without waiting for the reply, Jungkook stormed out.
Coming out of the classroom, Jungkook grabbed his phone and called his brother.
JK: Hello, Shorty!
Jm: Ya! I'm your elder brother. (shout)
JK: Aish, don't get started again. Tell me where are you?
Jm: Hanging out with my baby bear. Why?
"Baby bear? He's with Taehyung?", Jungkook thought.
JK: Share the location, right now!
Jm: No way! You two will cause trouble again.
JK: Trouble? He's not even looking at me, let alone fighting. He seemed so weird, you know?
Jm: Weird? Hey, brat! Don't you dare to badmouth my baby. I gotta go, Tae is calling me. Bye!
JK: Ya! Don't hang up! Aish, this shorty, he's of no good use. I guess I should depend on my own source. My phone changed, but that account should still be there.(smirked) Wait for me, Kim Taehyung! I'm coming.
Soon JK reached a internet cafe. He logged in the account of the spy app.
Not long before leaving South Korea, he installed it in both of his and Tae's phone secretly for keeping an eye on Tae. Tracking Tae's present location, JK headed to the destination with his hoodie and mask on. Hearing those things from Mingyu, he was sure of one thing, something big has happened.
So he decided to spy on Taehyung secretly for now.
JK found Tae and Jimin in a nearby park. They hung out for all day. They had meals together, went for shopping, karaoke, everything seemed pretty normal except one thing.
Tae kept zoning out in the middle of the conversation, As if he was day dreaming. And it didn't go unnoticed by Jimin. He kept asking if Tae is thinking of something. But every time Tae shrugged it off with a tight smile.
After hanging out for a whole day, they bid farewell to each other and parted their way as their house was in the opposite direction.
But surprisingly, Tae took an alley instead of the main road and that alley leaded him to a bar. And Jungkook who had been following him for whole day, followed him from distance and entered the bar too.
He saw Tae going straight to the bartender and placing order for the drink.
Jungkook also sat on a chair near Tae and placed an order. He was a bit shocked as he never saw Tae drinking before.
Tae kept drinking nonstop. He had a dark and dominant aura around him that made the girls over there drooling over him. And that drunk and k*lling gaze would freeze anyone in seconds.
So no one dared to step closer to him. But as the time passed, his aura cooled down, glares turned into blank stares.
"He's zoning out again.", thought Jungkook changing his seat to the closest one to Tae. He didn't seem to notice any of it. He was in his own world looking at his liqueur glass.
As he was whispering something, Jungkook leaned closer to listen. Tae was saying random staffs at first but then-
"Why? Tell me, why? What have I even done?" "Bored of me? How could you say it so casually?" "What about the promises we made? Was it all your lies? But I never lied, not for a second."
Tae got up from the tool with the glass in his hand and Jungkook followed him. He kept saying...
"The day mom left me, I lost the reason of living. If it wasn't for that brat....(chuckled) I would have ended my life already. Then you came."
Tae was about to lose his balance as he laid back. But Jungkook held him and took him to a room nearby. Tae looked at him with a smile and gently held his hands. Looking at Jungkook with his teary eyes Tae continued, probably taking him as the person who left him.
"You said you loved me, didn't you? Later you said that you lied and you never loved me."
Tae cried out.
"Why? Was she better then me? Or am I not good enough for you? Tell me, baby! Is it because I'm a boy? Or is it because I said I needed a little more time? Did she give you what I refused to give you? Is your love for me was only for my appearance? Was it only your lust for my body?"
Jungkook could feel his heart teared apart suddenly, his eyes started to filled up with tears too. He never saw his Rival in this vulnerable condition. He caressed Tae's cheek wiping away the tears. But his tears didn't stop falling down.
JK cupped his face and said, "Trust me, It wasn't your fault."
Tae put his hands on Jungkook's and said, "Then why did you leave me, baby? You broke me like a cheap glass plate. What the hell did I do to make you hate me that much? Why did you choose her, not me? You said, a text from me in the morning could light up your whole day. Then why did you....
Tae lost his breath. Jungkook got panicked and held him in his arms.
JK: Calm down, Tae! I'm right here, don't cry. Calm down.
Tae stayed like that for a minute. Then he pushed JK away from his embrace and grabbed his collar.
Tae: I know you're here. Why did you come back again, huh? Tell me, why did you come back? I thought you were satisfied after treating me like a toy and dumping me in the trashcan. But hell, no! You returned, well, not alone, but with your girlfriend. And you know the worst part? Like a pathetic looser, I'm still hoping for you to come back.
Tae fell down on his knees, crying mess. Jungkook was crying too. Why? He doesn't know. He was supposed to be happy seeing his SWORN ENEMY in this condition but in reality, he felt like breaking down inside. He couldn't understand, how can someone break the heart of an innocent soul like him?
He used to fight with Tae all the time since the first day of elementary school, trying his level best to piss Tae off. But those tears in Tae's eyes, its really unbearable. Jungkook could feel his hearts scattering in pain.
JK: Don't cry for him, Tae! He's not worthy of those tears.
Tae was not in a condition to understand his words. So, JK pulled him in his arms again and let him stay like that for awhile. When he finally stopped sobbing and howling, Jungkook called Jimin to come with their car. Giving him the responsibility of dropping Tae, Jungkook went back home by a cab.
