Chapter 81 - The King's Hidden Appetite

In the pitch-black darkness of the pantry, my heart pounded wildly against my chest like a war drum. My captor's hot breath brushed against my ear, sending shivers down my spine.

"Alone at last," a familiar husky voice whispered, instantly dissolving my panic into a completely different kind of tension.

"Landon! You scared the living daylights out of me," I gasped as his hand left my mouth, only to trace a slow, torturous path down the column of my throat.

His deep chuckle vibrated against my back, his powerful body pressing mine against the pantry wall. "That wasn't my intention, little wolf. But finding you here, all alone in the dark—" his lips brushed the sensitive spot behind my ear "—was too tempting to resist."

My breath hitched as his large hands splayed across my hips, drawing me back against him. I could feel his hardness pressing insistently against the curve of my backside, leaving no doubt about his intentions.
