Althida's pov
Dinner had ended a while ago, but the adults downstairs were still busy chatting about business and catching up. Every now and then, someone would tease Enzo and me, which I pretended to laugh off. What really caught my attention, though, was how quiet Talia and Lucien had been the whole time.
Were they bothered? Good. I liked it. A little too much, maybe.
Honestly, I still had no idea what Enzo's whole "plan" was, but I was just going along with it. Whatever he was trying to pull, it was entertaining. Especially when I noticed how uncomfortable Lucien and Talia seemed.
Now, I was back in my room, lying on my bed with a book in hand. Dad, Lucien, and Enzo were outside by the pool having drinks. I was finally enjoying some peace and quiet when..
Knock knock.
"Who is it?" I called out, putting my book down.
"Talia," came the reply.
Great. Just what I needed. What did she want now?
"What do you want?" I asked, already annoyed.
"Can we talk? Please open the door."
