Athilda's pov
I slowly opened my eyes and saw a white ceiling above me. The smell in the air told me right away, I was in a hospital. I looked around, hoping someone else was in the room, but it was empty. I tried to move a little and winced from the pain in my body. When I glanced at my arms, they were covered in cuts and bruises.
My gaze shifted to my chest, which was bandaged. I could also feel a bandage wrapped around my head, so I gently touched it to be sure and I was right.
On the left side of the bed, I noticed an IV drip attached to my hand. Even though it hurt, I forced myself to sit up a bit.
Who brought me here? How is my sister? How is my niece? I closed my eyes tightly as I tried to remember what happened. Suddenly, tears began to fall just as the door opened. I quickly wiped them away.
A woman in her 50s entered. Her skin was tan, her curly hair was fading to black, and she was a bit chubby. She was carrying some fruit and flowers.
