"Later. We are out of time." Roks clicked his tongue. "You take care of the camp," he added before walking away.
But for the first time, I caught Lt. Col. P.O. smiling, then sneaking a glance at me.
I looked away fast.
The truck engine started. I noticed some of the soldiers were looking at me, so I gave them a polite smile. It felt awkward. I was the only girl inside, surrounded by men.
I also caught sight of Goryo, his face looked downcast, and beside him was Denden, staring blankly. The truck was about to leave when a firm voice stopped us all.
"There is only one girl in that truck. Stop staring at her. She will not feel comfortable, especially around all of you men. Do not even think about disrespecting her. You know the rules. Behave if you do not want extra punishment."
It was Captain Roks.
"Sir, yes sir!" the soldiers replied in unison.
"MOVE." His voice boomed, and the truck finally started to roll.
