Chapter 8 - Chapter 8: The Vault of Greed

by IMERPUS RELUR

The vault door pulsed like a living heart.

Each beat echoed with one message:

Take. Own. Hoard. Control.

> [Sin Signature: GREED PRIME]

[Access Requires: Something You Cannot Replace]

IMER carried no treasures.

Only himself.

The vault opened anyway.

---

Inside was a throne.

On it sat himself again — but this one ruled kingdoms of light and data.

He didn't bleed. He oozed wealth.

Every breath taxed the air.

His crown ran with code.

"I am you," the King-IMER said, voice laced with entitlement.

"But better. I own everything."

IMER stepped forward.

"You own the world. But do you feel anything?"

The throne room trembled.

"Feeling is for the poor," the king sneered.

---

They didn't clash with blades.

They dueled with memories.

For each strike IMER landed, a cost was demanded:

A childhood laugh

A forgotten dream

The warmth of his mother's voice

One more attack. One final cost.

> [Final Attack Initiated: Let Go of the Unreturnable]

IMER paused.

Then whispered his name — and let it go.

The crown cracked.

The King-IMER wailed.

The throne collapsed into shimmering dust.

[New Skill: Empty Hand — Power increases when fighting for what you don't possess.]

[Title Unlocked: The Unnamed]

IMER stood in silence.

Nameless.

But never powerless.

And he walked on.
