Chapter 30 - Chapter 29 Parseltongue

"Geronimo!!" Auden screamed as he jumped into the slide pointing downwards.

Helena watched wide-eyed as Auden made the jump.

"Oh my god. He got Dad's recklessness. Mom was worried about that the most while checking which founder had the most effect on his physique when their magic was added to their body," Helena muttered as she began to follow Auden down the hatch.

It didn't take long for her to reach the chambers, where she found Auden cleaning himself of the dust with a spell.

"You should try to restrain yourself in the future, little brother. That was dangerous," Helena said sternly.

"Ah, well. Sorry, I was excited to get Parseltongue soon. From what I have seen, Harry Potter was able to improve his capabilities while just scratching the surface of its potential, and I am sure with his laziness, it will remain the same until something important happens that pushes him to do it, I guess," Auden said as he began walking through the tunnel right behind Helena, who was guiding him towards the Chamber of Secrets.

As they walked, Auden decided to ask the rest of the questions that had been plaguing his mind. The only things he had been able to learn from Helena were the way to activate the chess pieces left to him by the Founders, along with the fact that he could learn Parseltongue and gain command of the Basilisk hidden in the Chamber of Secrets.

Helena had talked to him about it, as she felt that Auden could not be completely safe without a guardian. So she figured having a giant and ancient basilisk guarding him 24/7 would actually be better than him roaming around with an owl.

Auden slightly clutched the illegal bag he had in his hand. It was one of the artifacts he found among the objects gifted to him by Nicholas Flamel. While giving it, Flamel warned him that it was slightly illegal, but he also said that everything was legal until you got caught. That earned him a whack from his wife, but even she agreed that the ban on such an item was idiotic.

Auden was currently holding a pouch with similar powers to Newt Scamander's suitcase. Though it did not reach the level or variety of Newt Scamander's, it was still more than enough to hold half the creatures in the Forbidden Forest without any problems. Auden was planning on keeping the basilisk inside the pouch and bringing it out when he was in a dangerous situation.

"Hey Helena, are the rumours about the Basilisk being made to kill Muggle-born wizards true?" Auden asked, to which Helena groaned audibly in frustration.

"Let me tell you something, Auden. It was not an accident that Hogwarts' current history teacher is a ghost who has never changed the curriculum for decades. It was done because the castle, along with the ancient ghosts, was angered again and again by the blatant changes to history by those in power.

I admit that Uncle Salazar had a bit of a temper problem and some difficulty expressing his real feelings. Aunt Helena was actually perfect for him, as she was an empath who was able to feel every emotion he tried to hide inside his mind.

The reason Salazar created the Basilisk was to protect all magic-born—Muggle-born or otherwise—from hunters and other creatures intent on harming witches and wizards during that time. The castle was made in such a way that it releases the Basilisk the moment it feels it cannot protect its students from a large number of enemies.

Muggle-born, half-blood, pure-blood—these kinds of silly divisions never existed during the times they lived. As long as you had magic, you were welcome as a student at Hogwarts, where you would be protected from harm and presented with knowledge irrespective of your lineage.

Those stories of hating Muggle-borns were created by weak men who tried to cling to the glories of their lineage years ago. It does not matter whether they were dark or light wizards—if they lived before the last thousand years and they heard about these new-age divisions and the way the European wizards are stagnating due to superstition and weak-willed people trying to cling to empty power," Helena said as she turned towards Auden with a serious expression. "These new age wizards would not survive their wrath"

Auden then realised Helena had included herself in this as well. He had wondered why Helena had decided to be stoic until he awakened instead of interacting with Hogwarts students normally like the other ghosts. But now he realised she was angry at the way the wizarding world was being destroyed from the inside by the very people who were supposed to protect it. The newly created divisions might have driven her mad, seeing that she was born and raised in an era where every single child with magic was extremely precious and cared for as such by those who were strong.

Seeing one of the Founders' names being dragged through the mud as a racist by political powers to gain more control over society must have angered her far too much.

'There are a lot of things left for me to do, I guess,' Auden said in his mind as he realised the depth of what he had to do in the future. He knew he wouldn't just disappear after the problems with Voldemort were taken care of. He would have to live in this world for the rest of his life as well, and he would make sure that this world ended up better than what the canon timeline was going to lead it to be.

Auden and Helena reached the chamber and opened the door by requesting the castle to open it. As they reached the large platform with the statue of Salazar, Helena pointed to a particular place.

"Drop a bit of your blood right there, Auden," Helena said as she pointed to a corner of the statue. Auden gave her a look, as the location she pointed to had no indication that it was made to absorb blood.

"Don't think we were idiots who put the locks in the most obvious places. We made sure to hide everything carefully," she said, to which Auden nodded and slightly cut his finger using a knife he took from the ring.

A/N- hope you like it.
