The moment Daisy turned, the breath was yanked out of her lungs.
At the top of the stairs stood Romeo .
His face set like steel, eyes burning with a fury that didn't match the calm tone he had used moments ago.
His arm was extended, his hand steady, and the gun pointed straight at Donato's skull.
Daisy's heartbeat fractured.
"Romeo wait" she gasped, taking a step forward.
But Romeo didn't look at her.
His eyes were locked on Donato with the kind of hatred only betrayal could breed.
"You must be insane," Romeo hissed. "Coming back here like a ghost and laying your filthy hands on her."
Daisy froze and donato didn't move, not even to breathe harder.
He simply lifted his chin, gaze sharpening.
"Put the gun down." Donato said, slow and deadly.
"Oh, I will," Romeo growled. "But not before I ask why the hell you're stalking Daisy in a hotel? Why did you dragged her into whatever nightmare you crawled out of."
The air snapped tight between them.
