Chapter 26 - The night.

Jay-Jay's Pov

I could no longer bear the weight of it all; my knees gave way, and I collapsed onto the floor, tears spilling uncontrollably.

Keifer stepped forward and pulled me into his arms, but I stiffened, refusing to melt into his embrace.

I shoved against his chest, breaking free from his embrace. I saw tears welling up in his eyes. I let my eyes slip past his, quietly turning my back to him. I slowly walked up stairs until a hand caught my wrist.

"Jay, let's talk this through," he said softly.

His grip was tender, almost pleading, yet I still pulled my hand away. I shook my head, "I-I can't,". I couldn't breath properly, because of all these sobs.

Why is everyone lying to me? Why is everyone not telling me everything? I also deserve to know the truth..

It seemed like Keifer understood what was happening to me, he suddenly held my hand and led me to the kitchen.

He poured water in a glass and turned to me.

Keifer's Pov

"What are you doing," she asked me, still sobbing.

"Drink this, it'll help you," I said.

She finally gave in, fingers curling around my glass with hesitation before taking a shaky sip, her sobs softening as the water slid down her throat. She gave the glass back to me and I placed it on the sink.

Jay-Jay's Pov

I walked back up stairs, opened a random door in front of me and collapsed onto the bed, every ounce of strength draining from me.

(☀️The next morning☀️)

Sunlight struck my eyes, and I blinked awake, the morning spilling into the room. Wait, which room am I even in? I observed the room for a second.. THIS IS KEIFER'S ROOM. As I rose, my eyes drifted to the side of the bed, taking in the quiet space beside me, but he was not here..

I sighed.. there is no school due to the exams anyway. My phone buzzed, Clyde?

[Ok]

1.00 PM.. Okay? not bad, I slipped my phone into the pocket.

I walked out Keifer's room and went down stairs. I saw him sleep on the couch, I thought he'd sleep in another room but on the couch? I sighed and made my way to the kitchen.

And this time there were maids, "Uh-hh hey miss," I patted on one of the maid's shoulder.

"Yes?,"

"C-can you make me some breakfast?," I asked.

"Of course," the maid said as she smiled. It was quick, she made me some pancakes. Pancakes.. I sighed again and started eating.

I heard someone groan, "Miss, what's for breakfast?," he asked.

"Pancakes, would you like some Mr. Keiren?,"

He nodded and sat beside me. I smiled at him, "Good morning, Keiren."

"Good morning, ate," he greeted as he dug into his breakfast. I smiled even brighter.

"Soo.. why is Kuya sleeping on the couch?, did you two had a fight?," he asked.

I thought for a moment before answering, "I-I don't really know," I replied.

He nodded and continued eating. We heard someone's alarm from upstairs, why is it soo loud?!.

"Kuya Keigan is awake," Keiren said.

With hair sticking every which way and clothes in mild disarray, Keigan made his way down the stairs.

"Wow, marvelous entry, Kuya," Keiren said playfully.

"Shut up," Keigan said as he sat on a chair.

I chuckled, I loved the way the talked to each other. We heard a groan from the couch, is he awake?.

"Kuya Keifer is awake," Keiren said.

With a stretch and a yawn, Keifer rose from the couch, his messy hair and disheveled clothes betraying his laziness. His eyes was swollen, was he crying?.

Our eyes met, but I didn't give him the satisfaction—I looked away without a word.

Keifer's Pov

She looked away.. I sighed, climbed the stairs, and went through the motions of brushing my teeth. By the time I returned downstairs, I was still drowsy and slow-moving.

I sat on a chair next to Keigan, I knew Jay was still mad at me.
