Chapter 17 - Chapter 17

"Thump... thump," Adrian and Elsa's heartbeats began to slow, the pain gradually disappearing, but neither released the other's gaze. Both were stunned. Adrian's eyes continued to follow Elsa as the teacher pushed her to the center, while Elsa turned to watch Adrian, who was sitting next to the door, until he turned away.

"Swoosh," Adrian unconsciously stood up, and Elsa pressed the wheels of her wheelchair. "Thud," Elsa fell from her wheelchair, then crawled towards Adrian and saw Adrian running towards her. Elsa sat upright and stretched out her arms. Adrian immediately crouched in front of Elsa and hugged her, then Adrian stood up with Elsa wrapped around his neck, carrying her.

They embraced tightly, and Adrian spun Elsa around like a prince embracing and twirling a princess. Both looked as if they hadn't seen each other in a very long time, releasing their immense longing for one another. The formerly noisy classroom suddenly became quiet and still, every eye fixed on the two of them embracing tightly at the front.

"I'm sorry, I didn't know you stopped working because you wanted to fix our relationship. I ended up divorcing you, I'm sorry," Adrian said, crying and speaking unconsciously.

"I'm sorry too. I made you make that decision because of my actions and attitude. I don't want to divorce, I love you," Elsa replied, crying.

"I love you too. I truly regret making that decision. I also don't want to divorce. Forgive me," Adrian said.

"I apologize. From now on, I will stay with you forever, and I will not repeat the same mistake, I promise," Elsa said.

Suddenly, both loosened their embrace. They looked at each other, tears wetting their faces and smiles adorning them. But as their faces began to draw closer, a folder suddenly appeared between them, blocking the way.

"Okay, stop the drama here. Household matters can continue at home," the teacher said.

"Eh," Adrian and Elsa, snapping back to reality, turned to look at the teacher beside them, then looked at each other.

"Oh come on, sir, why did you stop them? It's a shame, sir, they were almost touching," a student blurted out.

"Yeah, that's right, sir," another student added.

"Ooh-la-la, we have a married couple in our class," a student teased.

Immediately, the class became noisy. Some were touched, and some were teasing out of embarrassment. There were also a few who blamed the teacher for stopping them. Adrian and Elsa's faces immediately turned red, and they turned towards the whiteboard out of embarrassment, but they continued to hug. Adrian still carried Elsa, who had both arms wrapped around Adrian's neck.

"Then how long are you two going to pose like that?" the teacher asked.

"So-sorry, sir," both replied.

Adrian gently placed Elsa back in her wheelchair, then he pushed Elsa's wheelchair to her designated seat, which Elsa had specially prepared. Once at the desk, both immediately buried their faces in the desk, their faces flushed red.

"What was that just now... what did I do... Oh my, Uncle (Adrian) Auntie (Elsa), not in front of the class," both thought to themselves.

While lamenting what had just happened, suddenly both their backs were poked from behind. They turned to see Yuni smiling broadly behind them.

"You two, husband and wife, huh? How long have you been married? And why did you want to divorce, hehe," Yuni teased.

"Shut up, Yuni," Elsa retorted.

"Crazy, my friend is awesome, even Korean dramas can't compare, hehehe. This is the first time someone's been brave enough to kiss in front of a teacher, hehehe," Yuni teased.

"You're annoying, just shut up for a bit, I'm dizzy," Elsa replied.

"Poor Erik, he's going to pout. No wonder you keep rejecting him, turns out you already have a husband. Why didn't you tell me?" Yuni said.

"Is Erik her boyfriend?" Adrian asked.

"No, I've rejected him twice already!" Elsa denied.

"Ooh-la-la, scared of being divorced again, huh?" Yuni teased.

"What are you talking about?" Elsa pouted.

"No, if Erik is her boyfriend, I want to apologize for hugging someone else's girlfriend," Adrian said.

"Haha, relax, bro. Erik has already been rejected by her twice, there's no way he'll dare to make a move again. I've known Erik for a long time. Besides, it's fine anyway, just admit it," Yuni teased.

"Admit what?" Adrian asked, confused.

"Just shut up first, don't bother with Yuni," Elsa reprimanded.

"Oh, okay," Adrian replied.

"See? Still pretending. Earlier you said, 'I love you, I don't want to divorce,' not 'I don't want to divorce,' heheheh," Yuni teased.

"You've had enough, my ears are going to burn up soon," Elsa said, her face getting redder.

"Hehe, yeah, yeah, sorry. Whatever it is, I support you, hehe," Yuni replied.

"Thanks, turtle," Elsa replied.

Both fell silent again, but the classroom atmosphere didn't return to normal because many were discussing the recent incident, and some regretted not being able to record it to share on their social media. The teacher smiled and shook his head, then he sat in his chair and calmly read something on his smartphone.

The bell rang. Since it was only the first day, students were allowed to go home directly because there were no lessons yet. Adrian turned to look at Elsa.

"Want to go together?" Adrian asked.

"Yes, let's go together," Elsa replied.

"That's more like it, be harmonious, okay? Don't divorce all the time, it's not good," Yuni teased.

"Starting again, are we?" Elsa turned around.

Adrian turned around. He saw a small screen floating above Yuni's head and read the clear writing.

[Hehehe, this is good... really good. Erik is stuck and can't move. Erik is mine, you know. But yeah, I'm happy to see Elsa looking happy too.]

"Oh... so that's how it is," Adrian said with a smile.

"How is what?" Elsa asked, turning to look at Adrian.

"Nothing, let's go home," Adrian stood up and put on his backpack.

"Yes, let's go," Elsa replied, giving Yuni a sharp glance as Yuni smiled to herself and teased without saying anything.

Adrian pushed Elsa's wheelchair out of the classroom, accompanied by the gazes of their classmates who were smiling to themselves like Yuni. Once outside the classroom,

"Your name is Adrian, right?" Elsa asked.

"Yes, how did you know?" Adrian replied.

"I heard it during the introduction earlier. I was outside, you see," Elsa replied.

"You're Elsa, right?" Adrian asked.

"How did you know?" Elsa asked.

"Doctor Kelvin told me," Adrian replied.

After that, both fell silent. Adrian continued to push Elsa's wheelchair out of the building. Adrian turned to look around and saw many screens floating above everyone's heads. He turned to look at Elsa, and there was no screen above Elsa's head.

"No mistake, it's her," Adrian said with a smile.

Meanwhile, Elsa also heard other people's conversations about them and other people's heartbeats when they lied or had ulterior motives, but she heard nothing from the person behind her.

"Auntie's husband's heart is really inside him. I don't know if he was lying or not when he said he knew my name from Doctor Kelvin," Elsa murmured, smiling.

"Thump... thump... thump," their hearts began to beat fast again, but this time they felt comfortable, and a feeling they had never known before emerged in their hearts.

"What is this feeling? Is it mine or Uncle's (Adrian's) / Auntie's (Elsa's)?" both wondered to themselves, holding their chests.
