Chapter 23 - Chapter 23

The Secret Revealed

Adrian approached Elsa and sat on the side of her bed, his eyes fixed on Elsa's legs.

"You... have legs?" Adrian asked.

"Ah, these... um... from this watch, hahaha," Elsa replied, lifting her wrist.

"Hmm, interesting," Adrian said, examining Elsa's legs.

"H-hey, don't look at my legs like that," Elsa said, feeling uncomfortable.

"Oh, sorry, sorry. I know that watch can repair the body with that thick black liquid, but I didn't know the results would be this good, just like the real thing," Adrian said.

"Eh... you know about it too?" Elsa asked, surprised.

"Yeah, I've read the tutorial. Here, I'll show you," Adrian replied.

Elsa extended her hand. Adrian pressed a button on the lower right, and "whoosh," many laser beams shot out, forming a holographic screen filled with text. Elsa was surprised to see it and started reading. Adrian glanced at an album lying on Elsa's bed. He immediately picked it up.

"Hey, this album is with you?" Adrian asked.

"Oh... oh dear... y-yes, sorry. I just walked in back then because it accidentally rotated like this, just like now, when you left," Elsa replied.

"Haaah, so it was you who came in. I feel relieved. I thought it was a thief yesterday. When I came home, that room was open, and I was scared because there were so many weapons in that room," Adrian said.

"Yes, that's right, it was all weapons. I even thought you were a criminal back then, haha (realizing something) wait, who opened the secret room in my unit? Was it you?" Elsa asked.

"Um... yes, I also accidentally rotated it with this wall back then," Adrian replied.

"You... you... why didn't you say anything? That means you went into my room... Waaaaaaah, a guy saw my room!" Elsa exclaimed, hitting Adrian.

"You also went into my room, didn't you? Otherwise, how could you have taken this album?" Adrian said, catching Elsa's hand.

"Oh, that's true, then we're even, hehe," Elsa said, holding Adrian's hand.

"Unbelievable, isn't it? The ones who gave us these two apartment units were Uncle and Auntie," Adrian said, looking around.

"Yes, I also didn't expect it. At first, I thought it was Grandma, but it turns out Dr. Kelvin lied. Still, my intuition told me it was okay, so it's okay," Elsa said.

"Have you seen everything inside?" Adrian asked, showing the album.

"Yes, the front part is all paintings, and the back is photos," Elsa replied.

"Paintings?" Adrian asked, opening the album.

"These are paintings, you know," Elsa said, pointing to one of the paintings that looked like a photo.

"Hmm, but they really do look like photos, the painter is amazing," Adrian murmured.

"That's how it is. And pay attention to the background, the photo of the knight holding a sword and a princess. Look at the upper right side," Elsa said.

Adrian examined the upper side of the photo and didn't see anything unusual. Then he flipped the album and showed it to Elsa.

"What is it? Looks normal?" Adrian asked.

"Just look at this bird," Elsa replied, pointing to a bird flying in the sky.

"Hmm... why is it so big? The painting isn't proportional," Adrian said.

"Is that even a bird?" Elsa asked.

Adrian flipped the album over and lifted it, bringing the photo closer to his face and squinting his eyes. Adrian was shocked and turned to look at Elsa.

"Its shape is like..."

"A dragon, right?" Elsa asked, cutting off Adrian's words.

"Yes, a dragon. How can that be? Where is this? What country?" Adrian asked.

"Now you're realizing it. Are there dragons in our world? No, right? If it were a plane, I'd believe it's in our world, but because it's a dragon, it means it's another world, an isekai maybe, hehe," Elsa replied.

"Another world, huh? An isekai, huh? Hmmm, oh," Adrian said, remembering something.

"What?" Elsa asked, confused.

"Hold on, wait here," Adrian replied.

He stood up and ran into his room, then he entered the secret room and took his watch. He returned to Elsa and sat on the side of her bed. Adrian put on his watch and read the tutorial. He immediately went to a text and read it, then he turned to Elsa.

"Elsa, come here," Adrian said, pulling Elsa's hand.

Elsa moved closer. After Elsa was close, Adrian took Elsa's hand, which was wearing a watch. Then he looked at his watch, and then looked back at Elsa.

"Elsa, on the count of three, you press this top red button," Adrian said.

"Okay, what does it do?" Elsa asked.

"Just watch, it has to be together. Ready? 1... 2... 3," Adrian replied.

"Click!" Both pressed the button simultaneously. Suddenly, both watches emitted a bright light that made Adrian and Elsa squint their eyes due to the glare. Adrian immediately put his arm around Elsa, who also hugged him back. "Whoosh," the light shot straight in front of them and formed a vortex like a whirlpool, growing larger. "Pyash," the whirlpool stopped spinning. In its center was a mirror-like surface, and beyond the mirror, the interior of a house with wooden walls and a wooden table could be seen.

"Huh? A portal! Hahahahaha... this.....Isekai, Elsa!" Adrian exclaimed happily.

"Is that... real?" Elsa asked.

"Let's go in," Adrian invited.

"No, turn it off! I'm scared, what if we can't come back?" Elsa said.

"Hmm, you're right. Okay, let's turn it off first. We'll find out more before going in," Adrian said, then pressed the red button twice. The portal in front of them immediately closed and disappeared.

"Strange... really strange, scary," Elsa said.

"But you said you wanted to go to another world ? That was an isekai, wasn't it?" Adrian asked.

"Yes, but I only like reading the stories, not actually going there," Elsa replied.

"Hmm, alright then, let's find some clues first," Adrian said.

"Is there anything left in your room that you haven't seen? In my room, there are only dresses and costumes, at most there are many masks in a box next to the dress hangers," Elsa said.

"Hold on, let me try to remember (thinking for a moment) oh, there is, just a moment," Adrian said, standing up again.

He ran back to his room and soon came out carrying a worn-out pocket notebook. He sat back down on the side of the bed, and Elsa immediately joined him to read the book together. But both were confused when they saw the writing in the book.

"What kind of writing is that?" Elsa asked.

"I don't know, it's definitely not the alphabet, it looks like ancient writing, oh, that's right," Adrian said.

He immediately pointed his watch at the book and pressed the button on the left side. A beam of light came out, scanning the book and displaying it on the holographic screen in front of them, translated.

"Wow, what are you doing?" Elsa asked.

"This watch has a function to translate all languages; it's all in the tutorial," Adrian said.

"Looks like I should read the tutorial," Elsa replied.

They both began to read the contents of the book. It turned out to be the story of a journey of a man named Javis from House Hauser, the Easterius Empire, and a woman named Irisphilia, the first princess of the Norville Kingdom. They came from two warring kingdoms, fell in love, and chose to flee from their respective kingdoms.
