Chapter 59 - Chapter 59: I Held You When You Were Little

Chapter 59: I Held You When You Were Little

"That stinky uncle actually told me to go to the company. I really don't want to go..." Kiana pouted, looking completely unenthusiastic. If Ya Qing hadn't specifically told her on the phone to bring Himeko, Mei, and Bronya along, she definitely wouldn't have gone by herself.

Himeko was driving, with Bronya in the passenger seat.

Mei and Kiana sat in the back.

Bronya was searching the movie's cast list on her phone. "The Bronya speculates that the second movie might feature characters based on us," she guessed.

"Eh?" Kiana leaned over the back of Bronya's seat. "Really?! In that case, this young lady will definitely become the strongest Valkyrie!"

"No, you will only be a tuna," Bronya replied with her signature deadpan expression.

"Bronya!" Kiana gritted her teeth in anger. If Himeko wasn't driving, she would have climbed into the front seat for the sake of everyone's safety.

"Mei, look at her!" Kiana whined, shrinking into Mei's arms.

Mei looked at the coquettish Kiana in her embrace with a helpless smile. Suddenly, her gentle expression changed, and with a blush, she swatted away Kiana's mischievous hand.

"Stop messing around, we're here," Himeko said, parking the car in the open-air lot just outside the Far East branch's building.

"What a tall building!" Kiana exclaimed in awe.

"Don't make such a big deal out of it," Bronya said with a strange expression. "Kiana, your parents are high-ranking executives at Schicksal. Why do you act like you've never seen the world?"

"What does that have to do with anything? It's not like I've been to Schicksal HQ that often!" Kiana's face flushed red.

Himeko and the others entered the company lobby. After speaking with the receptionist, they sat down on the guest sofa to wait for someone to come and get them.

"Little Kiana~"

The person who came down to meet them was Shigure Kira. Since she had just arrived in the Far East and hadn't been assigned any work yet, she was, besides Ya Qing, the most idle person in the company. Naturally, Sabu had asked her to help greet the guests.

"You are?" Kiana recognized her as the person she had met in Theresa's office yesterday. She also knew from Ya Qing that her name was Kira, but she had no idea how to address her.

Perhaps seeing Kiana's predicament, Shigure Kira helped her out. "You can just call me Sister Kira!" she said with a wink.

"Sister Kira," Kiana obediently called out.

"Mhm, let's go. I'll take you directly to the recording studio."

Shigure Kira led Kiana and the others to the elevator, intending to go straight to the recording studio on the 31st floor. Although she hadn't explained why they were summoned, the destination said it all.

"Sister Kira, is my uncle really planning to create characters based on us?" Kiana asked.

"Arreh? Ya Qing... he didn't tell you?" Shigure Kira's eyes went wide with confusion.

Kiana instinctively looked at Mei, who shook her head to indicate she didn't know. Then she looked at Himeko, who was equally clueless.

"He didn't say anything," Kiana said, shaking her head.

"Alright then," Shigure Kira said. "I'll let Salome know shortly. Someone will explain the character settings to you. Honestly, that Ya Qing, he can't even handle a simple task."

Hearing Shigure Kira's complaints, Kiana found it hard to disagree.

The elevator stopped on the 29th floor. Rita, who was waiting for an elevator, looked at the group inside, a dangerous smile fixed on her face.

"Eh, Rita, are you going up or down?" Shigure Kira asked.

"Lady Kira, the President asked me to come down and get a project proposal from Director Salome. I am now heading to the top floor," Rita replied as she stepped into the elevator.

Once the elevator doors closed, Rita turned her gaze to Kiana. Her impeccable maid-like etiquette and undisguised stare set off alarm bells in Mei's mind. Mei silently took a step forward, blocking Rita's view.

Rita paid it no mind.

"You must be Miss Kiana. You..."

Hearing the familiar opening, Kiana waved her hand dismissively. "I know, I know. You held me when I was little, right?"

"Miss Kiana, that is not correct. I am not as old as you imagine. I am only five years your senior; it would have been impossible for me to have held you as a child," Rita said, not the least bit angered by the interruption, her smile never wavering.

"Huh?" Now it was Kiana's turn to be embarrassed.

The others tried their best to hold back their laughter.

Rita smiled. "I was going to say, your older sister, Bianka, asked me to pass on a few words to you."

Ding. The 31st floor had arrived. The moment the elevator doors opened, Kiana fled as if escaping for her life, leaving everyone confused. The only one who knew the truth was Rita.

After everyone had left the elevator, only Rita remained. As the elevator continued its ascent, she began to murmur to herself, "Lady Bianka, it appears I was not successful in delivering your message."

If one looked closely, they would see a Bluetooth earpiece in Rita's right ear, hidden by her short hair. A female voice was coming from it.

"It's alright, Rita."

On the 31st floor, Mei asked with confusion, "Kiana, what are you running for?"

"Mei, you don't understand." Kiana wiped the cold sweat from her forehead as if she had just escaped a near-death experience. "When my big sister sends a message through someone, it's always to ask about my studies. She's the one in the family who can't stand my laziness the most."

"Eh, is little Bianka like that now?" Shigure Kira's impression of Durandal was still of a six-year-old girl holding an umbrella, declaring she would save the world. Although she hadn't seen it herself, she had heard about the incident from both Ya Qing and Cecilia.

"Hey, Kirara, you're so slow."

Sabu looked at Shigure Kira with dissatisfaction.

Shigure Kira put her hands on her hips. "What do you mean, slow? It's only been ten minutes. Don't just make things up; I had to wait for the elevator to come up too, you know."

"Alright, alright." Sabu stood up and looked at Kiana's group. She extended a hand politely. "Hello, my name is Sabu Nicholas, head of the voice acting department."

"Hello, I'm Himeko, a teacher at St. Freya High School," Himeko said, shaking her hand.

"My name is Bronya Zaychik."

"Hello, I'm Raiden Mei," Raiden Mei said.

"Kiana Kaslana," Kiana said, looking around curiously.

"Kiana, you don't need to introduce yourself to me," Sabu chuckled. "I practically watched you grow up."

"Er..." Kiana scratched her head.

Sabu had everyone take a seat. A laptop was prepared at each position in the conference room, allowing them to freely look up their character settings. However, apart from Kiana, Himeko and the other two were diligently reading their own character files.

Kiana was different. The first thing she did was open Raiden Mei's character profile.
