The Birth of a New Scripture

After three months of relentless modification, Wu Tong finally completed his reconstruction of the Xuantian Gong.

Drawing upon the principles of the five techniques he had acquired, insights from novels of his past life, the wild theories of online forum dwellers, and the accumulated knowledge of Douluo Continent's ten-thousand-year history, he forged an entirely new cultivation method.

The original technique had been reshaped beyond recognition—what emerged was something wholly unique.

[Qi Cultivation Method: Crimson Wheel Scripture]

Crimson Wheel—a poetic name for the sun in mythology. Inspired by a novel's Divine Elephant Prison-Suppressing Art, which spoke of 840 million particles, Wu Tong envisioned opening all 720 acupoints in the body, each harboring a divine spark. These acupoints would function as 720 miniature dantians.

By borrowing the principles of the Purple Demon Pupil to refine pure yang energy, he devised a method to harness the sun's power. Each acupoint would condense a miniature crimson sun, forging pure yang essence. At full power, the technique could incinerate skies, boil oceans, and extinguish stars.

The hypothetical realms were divided into five stages:

Lesser Yang

Pure Yang

Great Yang

Supreme Yang

True Yang

However, due to limited knowledge, only the Lesser Yang Chapter was fully developed. Yet even this was sufficient to cultivate to the level of a Titled Douluo—though the resources required would be astronomical.

Strengths and Flaws

The Crimson Wheel Scripture boasted formidable advantages:

Indestructible Body: Upon mastery, it would forge a Lesser Yang Golden Physique.

Flame Manipulation: Control fire for both offense and defense.

Boundless Qi: Spiritual energy as vast as an ocean.

Body Tempering: Refining blood and flesh to unparalleled resilience.

But it came with critical drawbacks:

Resource Devourer: The consumption of energy and materials was staggering.

Solar Constraints: Before reaching the Great Yang stage, one could only absorb the mild solar energy of dawn and dusk. The midday sun's intensity would be unbearable.

Wu Tong had even wilder ideas during the creation process. As Buddhist scriptures said:

"The pores of the body are infinite, each a universe unto itself."

If acupoints could store energy, why not pores? But without deeper knowledge, such ambitions remained out of reach.

"It's done. Even the Lesser Yang Chapter alone will let me dominate Douluo Continent."

Though his safety was now assured, Wu Tong's plans didn't stop here. For true mastery, he needed the vast resources and knowledge only the Spirit Hall could provide.

Stretching his stiffened limbs after three months of seclusion, he stepped out of his dorm—only to collide headfirst into a soft, fragrant embrace.

"Oof—!"

Wu Tong scrambled back, blinking up at the figure before him.

"Mu Lan... jie? What are you doing here?"

An Unexpected Reunion

Mu Lan—one of the two female members of the Spirit Hunting Squad—stood before him, clad in a silver-white dress that shimmered like fresh snow. The fabric, likely silk or gauze, swayed with her movements, offering glimpses of ivory-pale legs.

Her white hair cascaded like a waterfall, pinned loosely with blue ornaments that accentuated her natural elegance. A simple gemstone necklace adorned her neck, complementing the dress and enhancing her ethereal aura.

Her voice, cool and detached, carried an inexplicable magnetism—like an autumn breeze or the solitary moon hanging in the night sky.

"I'm a guest lecturer at Notting Academy. When the squad isn't on missions, we take side jobs."

At just seventeen, Mu Lan had already reached level 39—a remarkable feat for an auxiliary spirit master.

"Wait, so you're my teacher now?" Wu Tong gaped.

"Correct. From now on, address me as 'Instructor.'" A flicker of mischief crossed her otherwise placid eyes.

"Uh... sure, Mu Lan-jie. Got it, Mu Lan-jie. Next time, Mu Lan-jie." Wu Tong deployed his signature敷衍 (perfunctory) tactic, the same one he used on Little Fatty.

Mu Lan: (눈_눈)

Unamused, she cut to the chase. "I've broken through to level 40. The squad plans to hunt a spirit ring for me, but Wu Tu thinks your theories could optimize the choice. We'd like your input over dinner."

"You're already level 40?" Wu Tong was stunned. Last he heard, she'd only just reached 39 four months ago.

"My spirit, the Moonlit Melody Qin, is a benign variant. It absorbs moonlight to accelerate cultivation," she explained.

Wu Tong nodded. "Three cobblers equal one Zhuge Liang."

The proverb wasn't about cobblers surpassing geniuses, but about collective brainstorming sparking inspiration. He was curious to hear the squad's thoughts—field experience often trumped textbook knowledge.

Soon, Mu Lan led him to a hotel in Notting City's western district:

Moonbloom Hotel.

The name tickled Wu Tong's memory. Wait, is this a branch of Suotuo City's Rose Hotel? Both flower-themed, both inns...

Shaking off the thought, he followed Mu Lan inside.
