Chapter 22 - One Move!

Sigh!

The old man from the Qiu family sighed, trying to calm himself down before asking with a serious expression. "What do you want then?"

"I've said it clearly before. At least 1 million saint crystals, or I'll teach him a lesson in your stead so that he won't repeat this in the future." Ash replied.

The old man furrowed his brow at Ash. "Don't you think what you've already done is more than just a lesson?"

"Do you really think so?" Ash raised an eyebrow.

He paused for a second, then continued, "If someone wanted to kill you, would you simply forgive them and let them go? Of course not. I'm already generous enough to not kill him and just give him a lesson."

"Are you mocking me? Do you really think I need to do what you say simply because you said so? I've already been generous enough by giving you some face to let the matter go and I'll pretend this little incident never happened, but you dared to go that far?" The old man released pressure, intending to intimidate Ash and the others.

In response, Li Jian waved his hand and dispersed the pressure instantly.

"It seems that you're not all talk, eh?" The old man smiled calmly.

Li Jian shook his head slowly before placing his hand on his sword.

"Hehehe… Remember to not make a move carelessly in your next life." Li Jian giggled softly as he unsheathed his sword slightly and vanished into thin air, appearing a few meters in front of the duo from the Qiu family.

He then slashed his sword horizontally, channeling energy into the blade and releasing a crescent of light aimed at their necks.

The moment Li Jian unleashed the sword energy, the old man felt the extreme danger that he had never felt in his entire life.

Unfortunately for him, Li Jian's movement and attack speed were so fast that before he could even react, the sword energy had already arrived right in front of him.

Just as he had reacted by channeling his energy to defend himself, the light energy had already decapitated them cleanly and proceeded directly behind them, cutting every tree in its path as if they were nothing.

When Ash heard the notifications, his eyes widened for a second before he quickly composed himself.

Everyone's jaw dropped when they saw the scene before their eyes, as they never expected such an outcome, especially for the old man from the Bai family.

"The ancestor and the patriarch of the Qiu family are dead just like that?!" Someone in the crowd exclaimed loudly.

As the others were chattering in a low voice, Li Jian returned to Ash and handed two spatial rings casually, throwing them at Ash as he was ordered to do so.

Ignoring the crowd's reaction, Ash checked the contents and frowned on finding only a few thousand low‑rank Saint Crystals.

"He only has a few thousand low-rank Saint Crystals? Tch, poor bastard!" Ash cursed angrily.

But then Ash suddenly realized something, so he looked at Aetherion and asked. "Is it because Saint Crystals are scarce here? Otherwise more people would've reached Half‑Saint or even Saint Rank, right?"

"You're right." Aetherion chuckled in response.

"Then why did you demand such an astronomical sum?" Ash raised an eyebrow.

"You were going to kill them sooner or later. I figured I might as well tease them for fun." Aetherion smirked as he shrugged his shoulders.

"Fair enough." Ash nodded innocently.

The others were speechless when they heard the conversation between the duo.

"No! There's no way my father and the ancestor died just like that! This must be fake—an illusion!" Qiu Ming screamed.

"Illusion, my ass." Ash kicked him in the cheek.

Qiu Ming rolled from the blow; only then did reality sink in, and he nearly lost his mind from the shock.

"Please, spare me! I'll accept whatever punishment you decide." Qiu Ming begged, kneeling on the ground.

"Alright, let me think about it first." Ash put his fingers on his chin, thinking about it for a second.

"How about this? Eat some dirt right in front of you, and I'll let you go afterward." Ash's smile turned wicked.

Qiu Ming knitted his eyebrows for a second, then replied as he gritted his teeth in resentment. "Fine."

He scooped up a handful of soil and swallowed it in one gulp, making several spectators gag.

Cough!

Ash coughed in embarrassment as he added another instruction. "You need to chew it too, don't be shy."

"Don't go too far!" Qiu Ming said in anger, and veins started to appear across his face.

"What? Do you want to do it or not? Don't waste my precious time." Ash replied coldly.

Qiu Ming didn't respond but still grabbed another handful of dirt and chewed it a few times before gulping it down with an expression as if he was about to vomit.

"Why so fast? Be passionate about it and eat it slowly." Ash held his laughter as he commented on it.

Cough!

"That's enough." Aetherion coughed, thinking to himself. 'This little bastard really has no shame at all.'

"Tch, alright then." Ash clicked his tongue.

He then waved his hand as he started to walk toward Xiao Mei and the old man. "Do as you see fit."

"YOU BAS—" Qiu Ming shouted at the top of his lungs when he noticed the grin on Li Jian's face.

Unfortunately for him, before he could even finish his shout, Li Jian had already decapitated him cleanly.

"Such a bitch, why did he curse me before he died! I only said I'd let him go, I never specified where. The underworld counts as a place, right?" Ash cursed in annoyance.

Everyone was dumbstruck by the response and thought to themselves to never ever offend Ash in any way, as they had never met someone more petty and shameless than him.
