INT. NOVA INFIRMARY – NIGHT
The infirmary was silent except for the soft hum of the life-support monitors. Lyra lay unconscious, her breathing steady but faint, wrapped in faint healing light from the Nova systems.
Daiki sat at her bedside, staring at her pale face. His hands trembled as he scribbled equations and diagrams on a datapad — weapon schematics, shard resonance tests, energy dispersal graphs.
DAIKI(whispering to himself)If I can isolate the corrupted energy and separate it… maybe I can save our mother. But… if I push too far…
He froze. His pen fell from his hand. No matter which way he calculated, the risk was the same — the host might not survive.
The infirmary door slid open. Zayn walked in quietly, holding a holo-projector.
ZAYNStill awake, huh?
Daiki didn't answer. He just kept his eyes on Lyra.
Zayn set the projector down and activated it. A flicker of light filled the room — it was footage from months ago. Lyra, trapped under Synkris's control, fighting her own teammates.
Daiki's eyes widened as he watched his sister struggle, screaming in silence through her eyes while the darkness twisted her movements.
ZAYN(gently)We've been here before. I remember when Synkris took her over? We didn't blast the corruption out of her. We found another way.
DAIKI(voice breaking)How much did she suffer… and she never said a word. I didn't even see it…
Tears rolled down his cheeks as he clenched his fists.
DAIKII won't let that happen again. Not to Nee-chan. Not to Mom.
He glanced at the half-finished weapon prototype on the table. His eyes narrowed.
DAIKI(muttering)This thing… it could rip the dark energy out… but the host might… die.
Zayn frowned, concern flashing in his eyes.
ZAYNThen you'll have to change it. There's always another way, Daiki. You just need to find it.
Daiki suddenly straightened, determination replacing despair.
DAIKI(snapping his fingers)Yes. If I reconfigure the shard resonance output… reroute it through a containment prism instead of the core, it might minimize the risk!
He pulled up a new design on the holo-screen — the weapon, but with a modified stabilizer and a shard containment chamber.
DAIKIWe'll need special materials. Rare alloys. Shard fragments that resonate at low frequency. And… something strong enough to anchor the prism.
Zayn smirked, placing a hand on Daiki's shoulder.
ZAYNThen I guess it's time for a little scavenger hunt.
Daiki looked back at Lyra one last time, brushing her hair gently aside.
DAIKI(softly, to her)Hang on, Nee-chan. I'll find a way. I'll bring our mom back. I promise.
