Mayuri Kurotsuchi devised over ten different methods for researching the Dangai space, including spiritual pressure probes, spiritual particle manipulation, Zanpakutō release, and Kidō fusion.
Kyōraku Callum meticulously tested each one. The results were quite promising.
Initially, the Dangai space was impenetrable, like an unbreakable shell. However, as the number of experiments increased, Mayuri Kurotsuchi and Kyōraku Callum's understanding of the Dangai deepened. Besides its incredibly high spatial density, the influence of time was a crucial factor.
Through his research on the Dangai space, Kyōraku Callum gained significant insights into manipulating spatial and temporal energies. His control over spatial stasis improved, allowing for more diverse applications.
For instance, he could imbue this power into an opponent's Zanpakutō, creating an effect similar to Kira Izuru's Shikai.
Alternatively, he could create trap-like Kidō by deploying spatial stasis around himself.
Their Dangai research lasted nearly a year.
In the long lifespan of a Shinigami, this was a negligible amount of time.
However, Kyōraku Callum noticed something significant: Renji Abarai, Kira Izuru, and Hinamori Momo had officially joined the Fifth Division, becoming Aizen's subordinates.
Recent reports indicated Aizen was promoting his vice-captain, Gin Ichimaru, to Captain of the Third Division – a matter still under review.
However, Kyōraku Callum knew it was a foregone conclusion. Aizen maintained a benevolent public image in the Seireitei, and the other Captains wouldn't needlessly antagonize him.
Furthermore, Gin Ichimaru's strength was more than adequate for the position.
Another six months passed, and the Dangai research reached a standstill. Mayuri Kurotsuchi's temper grew increasingly volatile.
"Why did it fail again?! You incompetent fool! You messed up such a simple experiment! Make it into a meat bomb; it's useless now!"
Such outbursts became frequent in the laboratory.
"Kurotsuchi, let's stop researching the Dangai space for now," Kyōraku Callum suggested after over a year of experiments.
They were both familiar with the process by now. "Bottlenecks aren't easily overcome."
Kurotsuchi nodded, agreeing to temporarily abandon the research. Kyōraku Callum then left the Twelfth Division.
As he watched Kyōraku Callum go, Kurotsuchi's sickly smile gradually faded, replaced by a deep look of
"Kyōraku Callum," Kurotsuchi muttered, his fingernails scraping against the workbench, creating a grating sound. "Another uncontrollable force in the Seireitei. The power of time…"
Over a year had passed.
Given Mayuri Kurotsuchi's intelligence, uncovering some secrets wasn't difficult, especially since Kyōraku Callum hadn't deliberately concealed his power. He understood that excessive secrecy could attract unwanted attention.
A calculated display of power could serve as a deterrent against potential dangers.
The research had stalled at a bottleneck. This was an especially dangerous period for Kurotsuchi, as he would utilize any method to advance his research.
Unfortunately, Kyōraku Callum was a crucial element in this endeavor.
They had discussed research details, such as the fusion of souls and Dangai space.
Kyōraku Callum, possessing inherent spatial abilities, was the ideal experimental subject.
Regardless, the Dangai space research had yielded significant benefits for Kyōraku Callum. The most notable advancement was in his application of time acceleration.
Now, without releasing his Zanpakutō, he could achieve a three-fold increase in speed—true, unparalleled speed!
Slap! On his return to the Fourth Division, Kyōraku Callum was attacked again.
The classic black shuriken, coated with a paralyzing agent and equipped with an electric shock mechanism.
"Suì-Fēng!" Kyōraku Callum said with extreme exasperation, without even turning around.
"Can't you just leave me alone? I really don't know where Yoruichi is!"
From behind a large stone pillar, a small figure emerged slowly.
"Impossible!" Suì-Fēng glared intently at Kyōraku Callum. "Yoruichi-taichō taught you the Shihōin Stealth Techniques!"
"But Shunsui-taichō knows them too," Kyōraku Callum sighed, even more exasperated. "Why don't you go after him?"
"We've been discussing this for over a year," Suì-Fēng retorted stubbornly, her determined expression unwavering.
"I must know Yoruichi-taichō's whereabouts!"
