Chapter 96 - BUTZ: Chapter 96

"Yo, Kyōraku-kun!" Kisuke Urahara greeted with a smile as Kyōraku Callum arrived. He seemed as relaxed as ever, showing no signs of worry. "

"Yo, Kyōraku-kun!" Kisuke Urahara greeted with a smile as Kyōraku Callum arrived. He seemed as relaxed as ever, showing no signs of worry.

"Kisuke, long time no see," Kyōraku Callum replied, landing steadily on the roof of the Urahara Shop.

"If I remember correctly, it's been less than three months since our last meeting."

Urahara Kisuke playfully countered, "Not quite."

Kyōraku Callum explained, "My confinement has been lifted."

"Ah, yes, your first day out after your sentence," Urahara Kisuke said with a teasing smile.

Their relationship had improved considerably over the years. Kyōraku Callum's frequent visits to the World of the Living to see Nelliel and Yoruichi Shihōin had fostered a closer friendship with Urahara Kisuke.

"Actually, I came to ask you something," Kyōraku Callum said, getting straight to the point.

"I've been expecting you," Urahara Kisuke replied, gesturing towards the shop.

"Let's discuss it in the underground space."

Kyōraku Callum, without suspicion, jumped down from the roof and smoothly entered the Urahara Shop's underground space. As he entered, he heard a joyful shout.

"Kyōraku, you're finally here!" Nelliel, her eyes bright with happiness, dashed towards him, leaving a startling green afterimage.

BOOM! A loud crash echoed through the underground space.

"Whoa, Nelliel," Kyōraku Callum muttered, instinctively raising his spiritual pressure defensively.

Sure enough, a moment later, he felt a heavy blow to his abdomen. A super-speed, super-headbutt combo.

Nelliel, fully recovered, could now use this technique to instantly defeat a squad of Shinigami.

Only Kyōraku Callum, with his powerful spiritual pressure and spatial manipulation, could take the hit unscathed. Any other Captain would have been seriously injured, if not killed.

Despite her recovered strength, Nelliel maintained her childlike form, due to her own preference.

As she put it, she wanted to remain as she was when she first met Kyōraku Callum. Urahara Kisuke had created a transformation bracelet for her, allowing her to switch between adult and child forms at will.

Kyōraku Callum respected her wishes, although holding Nelliel in her current form felt rather odd.

"Kyō… Kyōraku, I thought you'd abandoned me," Nelliel said, her eyes welling up. She clung tightly to Kyōraku Callum's sleeve.

Kyōraku Callum chuckled wryly. "It's only been three months. Besides, don't you have Dondochakka and Pesche to keep you company?"

Nelliel buried her face in his chest, mumbling, "But I want to be with you! Kyōraku, when are you taking me to your place?" She looked up at him expectantly.

Kyōraku Callum considered this. "Give me some time. I need to prepare…" (He needed to earn some money).

Nelliel, though confused, nodded.

"Hey! Kyōraku-kun, you finally decided to visit the World of the Living?" Yoruichi Shihōin's voice cut through the air from behind him. "And you didn't come see your Yoruichi-neesan first?"

Kyōraku Callum tensed; something felt amiss. Yoruichi Shihōin embraced him tightly, whispering, "I've missed you…" Importantly, she wasn't in her cat form.

Nelliel peeked out from Kyōraku Callum's embrace, her cheeks puffed out, glaring at Yoruichi Shihōin.

"Damn it! That bad woman is trying to steal Kyōraku from me again!"

Kyōraku Callum felt Nelliel's spiritual pressure surge as she instantly transformed into her adult form. Before he could react, both women were holding him tightly, their eyes locked in a tense standoff.

"Little Nelliel, that's not stealing," Yoruichi Shihōin said playfully, a smile playing on her lips. Since Nelliel arrived in the World of the Living, she'd taken great pleasure in teasing her. Watching Nelliel's anxious reactions was quite amusing. "Kyōraku-kun definitely likes Nelliel, right?"

Nelliel, unable to argue with Yoruichi Shihōin, looked to Kyōraku Callum for help.

"Well, that's debatable," Yoruichi Shihōin continued, seemingly enjoying the situation. "I knew Kyōraku-kun long before you did!"

Just then, Urahara Kisuke's voice cut through the air. "Ahem, perhaps you should release Kyōraku. He seems to be… suffocating."

"Huh?" Nelliel quickly released Kyōraku Callum.

"Kyō… Kyōraku, are you alright? Don't scare me!" Her voice trembled with tears.

Yoruichi Shihōin, finding this a bit much, nudged Kyōraku Callum's side. "Enough, Kyōraku-kun. If you make Nelliel cry, I won't forgive you."

His breathing was steady; his spiritual pressure remained calm. He didn't look like he'd fainted.

Only Nelliel's innocent nature would believe Urahara Kisuke and Kyōraku Callum's flawless acting.

"Cough!" Kyōraku Callum 'woke up,' gently stroking Nelliel's drooping sea-green hair. "There, there. I'm fine."
