Chapter 109 - BUTZ: Chapter 109

Stepping forward, Rukia drew her Zanpakutō, closing her eyes to gather her spiritual pressure.

"Dance, Sode no Shirayuki!"

Before its Shikai release, Sode no Shirayuki, one of the most beautiful Zanpakutō in Soul Society, looked like any other ordinary sword.

However, its appearance dramatically changed upon release.

The blade, hilt, and tsuba were pure white, the tsuba oval-shaped with six openings, the hilt adorned with intricate carvings, and a long white ribbon tied to the end.

Its appearance suggested a delicate art piece rather than a weapon of war, yet the chill emanating from it hinted at its considerable power.

"Some no mai, Tsukishiro!" Rukia's voice was cold and calm as she entered a state of focused combat, meticulously observing every detail.

She swung her arm, Sode no Shirayuki's tip pointing downward, drawing a large circle on the ground. The Gillian, oblivious, were unaware of the impending danger.

The moment they stepped inside the circle, a chilling frost rose from the ground!

A massive white pillar of light shot towards the heavens, bathing the world in a blinding white light.

Yoruichi Shihōin, observing the spectacle, couldn't help but exclaim, "Truly worthy of being Soul Society's most beautiful Zanpakutō; even its battle style is filled with aesthetic grace."

Kyōraku Callum agreed. "Indeed, the power is considerable. The Gillian within Tsukibake's range have already lost all vital signs."

The Gillian caught in the light pillar froze into ice, instantly silenced.

Crack! The nearly hundred-meter-tall ice pillar shattered into crystalline fragments that scattered across the earth.

The remaining Gillian paused, their simple minds seemingly unable to comprehend what had just transpired.

"Tsugi no mai, Hakuren!" Rukia didn't stop there.

Her expression stern, she plunged Sode no Shirayuki into the ground.

With the infusion of spiritual pressure, layers of ice rose from the earth.

A torrent of freezing air, like an avalanche, surged upwards!

The Gillian caught in this icy blast quickly met the same fate as the previous ones, reduced to glittering ice fragments that scattered like snowflakes.

The remaining two Gillian, sensing the danger, opened their maws, red spiritual pressure energy gathering within.

Their actions were perfectly synchronized.

Cero!

However, being low-level Hollows, they required time to gather the spiritual pressure for their Cero.

Rukia's violet eyes flashed with cold determination; she stepped forward.

"San no mai, Shirafune!"

Sode no Shirayuki pierced the air, instantly freezing the moisture in the atmosphere into a hundred-meter-long blade of ice.

Rukia's face paled from the exertion, but the ice blade's length was terrifying.

With a single, swift strike—the simplest and most effective sword technique taught at the Shinigami Academy—the hundred-meter ice blade sliced through the air with a piercing shriek, cleaving through the mouths of both Gillian! The red spiritual pressure energy instantly extinguished.

The Gillian invasion was over!

Rukia exhaled a plume of white breath, as if in the dead of winter. "It's done," she said, looking excitedly towards Kyōraku Callum, before noticing Yoruichi Shihōin's suddenly grave expression.

"That spiritual pressure…"

Rukia then saw a horrifying sight in the sky above—the clear blue sky cracked like glass! Several enormous, ghastly white claws tore through the heavens, revealing a massive dark chasm.

A terrifying pressure emanated from within the chasm.

The Segunda Espada had arrived.

A towering throne of bone stood in the sky. A stern-faced elder sat upon it, his hands resting on the armrests.

A bloody red light flickered in his skeletal eyes.

He wore a crown-like headdress, a massive golden compass at his waist, and a long robe, perfectly embodying the demeanor of a Hueco Mundo God-King.

Barragan Luisenbarn, former ruler of Hueco Mundo, now the Segunda Espada!

Three grotesque figures stood behind him, each exuding arrogance. While Barragan himself possessed a certain imperial presence, his subordinates were exceptionally ugly.

Forget the bird-like Abirama Redder; the humanoid Hollow, Charlotte Chuhlhourne, was visually disturbing.

"A foul stench," Barragan's aged, authoritative voice boomed. "The World of the Living smells far worse than I imagined. And there are those repulsive Shinigami."

His arrogant gaze fell upon Kyōraku Callum.

"State your name, Shinigami. I shall grant you the most magnificent of deaths!"

Instinctively, Rukia raised Sode no Shirayuki, her expression alert, under the weight of Barragan's terrifying spiritual pressure, which pressed down on her heart like a mountain.

Kyōraku Callum stepped forward, placing himself before Rukia, calmly facing the arrogant Barragan.

Rukia was surprised to find the oppressive pressure instantly vanish.

She looked at Kyōraku Callum's back, a thought forming in her mind: I'm still under his protection.

Yoruichi Shihōin moved to their side, whispering, "Leave the battlefield to Kyōraku. He can handle this."

Rukia nodded hesitantly.

They used Shunpo to retreat behind Kyōraku Callum.

"Vice-Captain?" Barragan's aged face showed confusion. "Who gave you the audacity to stand before me?"

Kyōraku Callum sighed. "Former Hueco Mundo God-King, now a fallen dog. What right do you have to bark your arrogance in the World of the Living?"
