Chapter 41 - Chapter 41: The Guild (V)

I had Samus blindly follow the plot for the first few episodes of Clone Wars Season 1, so he (now she) can settle into her new life in Star Wars.

I will not have her follow the entire show, cause you know, that's boring. I will pick and choose which battles she will participate in. Outside of that, she is on her own!

The next battle she will participate in is the Liberation of Ryloth. That is the focal point of Season 1, and it's the next biggest battle chronologically. I know the Clone Wars show does events out of order, but I'm following a close list of what's to come next.

As to where Samus goes in-between, what worlds would you readers like to see explored? I'm open to suggestions!

Right now the three options I'm considering are:

 -Tatooine

-Nal Hutta and by extension, Nar Shaddaa

 -Mandalore

***

What would you do if you suddenly found yourself turned into a woman inside some random spaceship with all the time in the world to consider what you should do next?

Feeling a little guilty, I couldn't help but glance my eyes downward again, seeing my blue Zero Suit. My eyes landed in a particular area.

"Adam, dim the lights to the cockpit for the next one or two hours. If I catch you recording any of this I'll have your entire memory banks wiped clean. You got me?", I asked in a serious voice. I simply saw Adam sigh as I looked right at him.

[As you will.] Adam responded, before vanishing from sight.

The console wound up blank. It didn't even blink and didn't wait for me to respond to it. Shortly after, I heard the gunship's engines die down. Not all the way off, but enough to make sure the gunship still functioned. From there, the lights inside the cockpit dimmed. I could barely see in front of me, but it was enough to see my body.

"Who wouldn't want to have a little fun with their body like this? This is totally normal.", I uttered to myself, feeling heat rise up within my body. My cheeks turned a little rosy, and I moved my right arm downward.

Before long, only moans and schlicking sounds echoed inside my gunship...

Some time later, the sound of the door that led into the cockpit hissed open. I had settled my thoughts soon after having that little bit of fun, and decided to rest in my Personal Quarters for a while after. I am not sure how much time has passed, but I'm not that pressed for time. I decided to keep my Zero Suit on, opting not for casual wear like previously. But would you consider this casual to begin with? I'm not sure.

As for the time I now have on my hands, I have a whole galaxy ripe for exploring, and many characters to interact with. Only a handful currently know of my existence inside the Republic, but as part of the whole picture, I'm just a single woman. No matter where I decide to go from here, people won't know me. And I won't know them. Well, I know them from the lore, but you get my point. That's what makes exploration fun, isn't it? It's like starting a new job, or changing schools. I get to carve out my own path here.

I do know it's 22 BBY, and the first Death Star won't be created for two whole decades. Plenty of time to form connections, and do some jobs. It's very possible I'll cross paths with already-famous bounty hunters like Cad Bane too. Hell, depending on what mission is at hand, we might even team up together to claim the bounty.

Letting my previous excitement die down, a new feeling of anticipation surged within me. I strutted forward inside the main chamber, heading right back into the cockpit, where I saw Adam waiting to greet me.

[Feeling better?] Adam questioned.

"Much better, thank you very much.", I happily replied, nodding my head.

My cheeks were still a tiny bit rosy from that "fun", but I never felt better. Letting out some steam like that after completing a mission just hits the right spot you know? And I'm not referring to those sonic bathrooms shown in the lore, where they blast you with highly-pressurized air that was cool to the touch to clear away any dirt or grime on your body. As much as that sounds interesting, I really don't want to try that. Luckily for me, the cruiser Obi-Wan brought me on while we escorted Master Yoda back to Coruscant had fully functional water showers, so I opted for that when I dined with Obi-Wan that one time. If I get the chance to do so again, I'll happily oblige. Free food, free company, what more could you ask for?

Seeing me with a confident look, Adam just stared at me, before proceeding to ask a question. Hearing it drew my interest.

[So where to, Samus? I've already integrated the star chart you gave me, so all we need to do is input some coordinates, and the gunship will initiate its autopilot from there, and engage hyperspace. Thanks to the cloaking mechanism you can even bypass heavily-secured trade lanes. Is there really a reason for you to go out of your way to acquire some identification? It can take a bit of time but I can try to bypass some security protocols on a lesser planet and forge some for you through the holonet.] Adam suggested.

I thought about it, but I quickly shook my head.

"True. You can do your magic and fabricate birth records and get me some nice security clearances. But therein lies the problem, Adam. What you're suggesting, that's all digital. In what way or fashion can we actually use this?", I replied. This time it was me who provided a question to Adam.

[Now that's a fair point. It sounds like you already have something on your mind to address this, Samus.], Adam said to me. I nodded my head in response.

"What we need are called identicards. This is physical proof that you are bound to the organization who issues them. I don't know if I truly want to be part of the Republic quite yet, nor do I want to be with the Confederacy. Then you have the Free Systems where they don't align to one or the other, remaining neutral unless forced otherwise. The Guild falls under such jurisdiction, and they have a healthy relationship with the two strongest organizations in all the galaxy. The thing is, we can't just randomly wander inside there without running into trouble.", I answered.

[I see what you're saying. You're going to use that connection you established with the Toydarian King to get you inside. Less hassle, and more of a formality. I see you jumping some lines with this. I will have all of your current power ups remain active. Since there's some time we can use, I recommend fully charging your suit before heading out. Shall I proceed to set the destination to Planet Toydaria?] Adam asked me.

"Please. I'm curious to see what Planet Toydaria is like. His Majesty likes to vacation in such barren spots, so it might be somewhat uncomfortable for a human to wander into their planet, so we'll see.", I responded.

If I recall, isn't Planet Toydaria one giant swamp planet?

I couldn't help but picture a certain green ogre yelling "get out of my swamp!", haha!

It makes sense, considering Toydarians are amphibians. Swamps are basically their homes. Having the Gravity Suit and Gravity Booster should serve its purpose well in such an environment.

While thinking that, I merely willed my Power Suit into existence again, and on its own, its orange plating began to retreat into itself, and the Gravity Suit replaced it, making me all vibrant purple again. I am not sure if Gravity Suit is one of my favorites, but it's definitely up there. I wonder, when will I get other suits like the Phazon Suit or the Light Suit?

[Acknowledged. Setting course for Planet Toydaria. We are currently in the Core Worlds, so it will be some time until we arrive in the Mid Rim. As I've suggested, use this time to charge your suit and make yourself a meal. You don't want to go into this on an empty stomach.] Adam said.

"Might as well.", I said, nodding my head.

With a hiss of a door opening, Adam saw me retreat into the main chamber, and observed my fleeting figure in silence.

[Wherever we go from here on Samus, we're bound together whether you like it or not.] Adam said inside the cockpit before his face vanished from the control panel. Soon after, the gunship's autopilot engaged, and the gunship jumped into hyperspace.
