Although Ren felt a tinge of disappointment at receiving merely an S+ Rank item from an EX-Rank treasure chest, he wasn't truly dissatisfied—after all, Gojo Satoru's abilities suited him exceptionally well.
He quickly processed the System's influx of information, realizing that the Character Card would grant him not only Gojo's powers but also his experience and skills, which would permanently fuse with him—like inheriting the memories of an entire lifetime.
As for usage, it was simple enough: all he had to do was crush the card, at which point Gojo Satoru's powers and experiences would pour into him, sending his body into a coma as he assimilated them. The process could last anywhere from 10 hours to 3 days, depending on the character's strength.
Even though he longed to use it right away, Ren restrained himself. He tossed the card into his inner world, for he already had an appointment—and his companion had just arrived.
Before his eyes stood a beautiful girl with long black hair flowing down to her lower back, its tips tinted violet, and shining golden eyes. Her small, delicate face radiated a youthful charm.
While she didn't boast an overly mature figure, her body was slender and well-proportioned, with a graceful form, modest bust, slim waist, and supple curves.
She wore casual clothes: a simple white hoodie paired with a black skirt, long black stockings, and white sneakers.
"Sorry, did you wait long?" —the girl smiled apologetically, her bright expression fixed on Ren, who had clearly been waiting for a while.
"Not really, I was just fiddling with my phone." —Ren shook his head lightly, his gaze sliding from her head to her toes. "That outfit suits you well—it shows a refreshing, youthful side of you, Miko."
The beautiful girl before him was none other than Yotsuya Miko, his childhood friend—the girl who could see evil spirits, whom he once helped seal away her spiritual sight.
Usually, Miko appeared as a gloomy, slightly reserved girl. But right now, she looked like a radiant, blossoming flower.
Miko blushed faintly, her heart swelling with joy at his compliment. She had put real effort into her appearance today—even adding lip balm and a touch of eyeliner, something she would never normally do.
"Well then, shall we go?" —Ren smiled as he walked beside Miko. They were heading out to shop, eat, and enjoy the city together. In other words, it was a date, though neither of them openly admitted it.
The two walked side by side, so close that their shoulders brushed now and then without hesitation or shyness. With natural boldness, Ren gently reached out, taking Miko's soft, delicate hand in his own. Their fingers interlaced tenderly, weaving a quiet bond of warmth amidst the city's clamor.
Although Miko was startled by Ren's boldness, she didn't pull away. Instead, she gripped his hand tightly, her ears flushing red with embarrassment. It was her first time showing such affection in public, and it left her flustered to no end.
"Where do you want to go first? Shopping? A restaurant? Or something else?" —Ren asked.
Miko squeezed his hand a little tighter, smiling shyly before answering in a quiet voice:
"Maybe we start with shopping, then grab something to eat… and after that, we'll see."
Ren looked at her with a warm smile, feeling as though the atmosphere around them had grown even cozier.
"Alright. Let's just enjoy the day together. No need to rush."
They strolled forward through the bustling streets, passing both small shops and large stores. Their lighthearted conversation flowed naturally, each trying to make the other feel at ease.
The city pulsed with life all around them, yet to the two of them, it felt as though they existed in a world of their own—separate from all the noise.
