Chapter 34 - Chapter 34: Attending the Heroes' Reception, Tornado and Blizzard Sisters Meet

When Kaito finished washing up and emerged from the bathroom in a sharp black suit, the atmosphere in the living room was already tense.

Mosquito Girl was plating the fried bacon and eggs, and seeing Fubuki's revealing outfit, her spatula creaked in her hand.

Meanwhile, Fubuki elegantly crossed her beautiful black-stockinged legs at the dining table, deliberately puffing out her chest to display her impressive figure.

"Boss, breakfast is ready," Mosquito Girl said, placing the plate heavily in front of Kaito, her voice full of grievance.

Seeing this, Fubuki immediately stood up and gracefully twirled in front of Kaito.

As her skirt flared, her long, beautiful legs were faintly visible.

"King, do I look good in this?" she asked, batting her large, watery eyes, her tone clearly boastful.

Mosquito Girl stomped her feet in anger, but dared not lash out—only looking at Kaito with a mournful gaze.

Kaito unhurriedly cut the bacon on his plate, his gaze sweeping over Fubuki.

It had to be said, Fubuki truly looked stunning today—

The dress's form-fitting cut showcased her curvy figure perfectly, and the backless design added a touch of sexiness; she was like a meticulously carved jade beauty, exuding a captivating glow.

"Not bad," Kaito commented briefly, continuing to enjoy his breakfast.

This bland reaction clearly did not satisfy Fubuki.

She leaned closer to Kaito, her subtle perfume scent lingering between them.

"Just 'not bad'? I prepared for this banquet for a long time, you know~"

Mosquito Girl finally couldn't hold back, slamming her juice glass on the table.

"Can't you stop leaning so close!"

Fubuki narrowed her eyes, instantly releasing her esper pressure.

"Little maid, mind your attitude. King and I are partners attending a formal event together."

"You!" Mosquito Girl trembled with anger, her small mouth baring, her canine teeth showing.

As the tension between the two women grew, Kaito put down his knife and fork and gently tapped the table.

"Enough."

Two simple words, yet they immediately silenced both women.

Mosquito Girl lowered her head dejectedly, while Fubuki pouted in defiance.

"Mosquito Girl, you stay home today and take good care of the house," Kaito wiped his mouth.

"Fubuki, wait by the door. I'll be right there."

Fubuki glanced triumphantly at Mosquito Girl and walked gracefully towards the entrance.

Mosquito Girl, with red eyes, collected the dishes, her back looking particularly lonely.

Kaito sighed and walked over to Mosquito Girl, gently rubbing her head.

"I'll bring you dessert back, the kind with double frosting."

Mosquito Girl's eyes instantly lit up, and she rubbed Kaito's palm like a stroked kitten.

"Mm! Boss is the best!"

When Kaito arrived at the entrance, Fubuki had already prepared their coats.

She thoughtfully adjusted Kaito's tie, her fingers subtly brushing against his chest.

"King, tonight will surely be an unforgettable night," she said, tilting her face up, her red lips inches away.

Kaito did not reply, simply taking his coat and putting it on.

He had chosen a well-tailored black suit today, with a dark red shirt underneath and a subtly patterned silver-grey tie.

Three scars were faintly visible at his collar, adding a dangerous charm to him.

"Let's go."

The Hero Association banquet was held at A City's most renowned seaside resort—the Blue Coral Resort.

This luxurious resort, spanning tens of hectares, was usually only open to top-tier wealthy individuals, but tonight it was booked by the Hero Association to host the elite heroes who protected the city.

As the sun set, golden rays spread across the azure sea, shimmering.

A large translucent tent was erected on the pristine white sand, its interior decorated with luxury and taste.

Crystal chandeliers hung from the tent's ceiling, sparkling with a soft glow in the twilight.

Waiters in uniform white attire moved among the guests with silver trays, the scents of champagne and gourmet food intermingling in the air.

As Kaito stepped out of the stretched limousine, he immediately felt the refreshing sea breeze and the opulent atmosphere.

He adjusted his suit cuffs, his gaze sweeping over the brightly lit banquet venue.

Fubuki followed closely, her slender fingers gently resting on his arm.

"King, this way, please," a white-gloved waiter respectfully led them towards the main hall.

As they drew closer, the cheerful jazz music gradually became clearer.

Through the translucent tent walls, shadowy figures could be seen inside.

A-class heroes gathered in small groups, conversing, while even more prominent were the business magnates in their suits and ties.

"I heard the Association invited representatives from over thirty financial groups this time."

Fubuki whispered close to Kaito's ear, her warm breath caressing his earlobe.

"It's said that even Nova Heavy Industries, ranked among the top ten in the world, sent their vice president."

Clearly, this banquet—ostensibly to reward the heroes—was actually a pretext to invite wealthy individuals from all sectors to solicit sponsorships and investments.

After all, hero activities and post-disaster reconstruction required vast amounts of funding.

Kaito grunted noncommittally.

He had no interest in such business dealings and didn't need to concern himself much; only the Association's high-ranking officials would handle the communication.

He only needed to enjoy the food, wine, and beautiful women at the banquet.

Just as the two were about to enter the main hall, Kaito keenly noticed an emerald-green figure on the distant beach.

The petite figure was suspended in mid-air, her distinctive curly hair gently swaying in the evening breeze—it was none other than the S-class Rank 2 hero, Tatsumaki the Tornado.

Beside her, Chiba Reina wore a light pink evening gown, her impressive curves almost bursting from the tight dress.

She seemed to have noticed Kaito as well, and immediately waved excitedly.

"King! Over here!" Chiba Reina's voice carried easily through the noisy crowd.

Kaito's lips curved slightly, and he was about to lead Fubuki over when he suddenly felt the delicate hand on his arm stiffen.

Turning to look, he saw Fubuki's face instantly turn pale, her rosy lips pressed tightly together, and a flicker of panic flashing in her emerald eyes.

"What's wrong?" Kaito asked softly.

Fubuki didn't answer, her gaze locked firmly on Tatsumaki.

Only then did Kaito realize—

The relationship between these sisters was far more complicated than it appeared on the surface.

Tatsumaki, not good at expressing emotions, always spoke to Fubuki in a commanding tone. She regarded the Fubuki Group as nothing more than a "B-class fan club," and dismissed B-class heroes as a hindrance, refusing to acknowledge Fubuki's strength.

For example, in the original story, when the monster Nu S attacked, Tatsumaki arrived and curtly told Fubuki to shut up and go home, leaving her feeling deeply dejected.

As for Fubuki—she felt both dissatisfaction and awe toward her sister. She longed for Tatsumaki's approval and once tried to surpass her by forming the Fubuki Group.

But after enduring various hardships—such as risking her life against a Dragon-level monster to save Tatsumaki during the Shibuya Incident—her sister had finally seen her growth, and acknowledged her strength.

"Oh! King!" Tatsumaki's voice rang out from afar, and in the blink of an eye her floating figure was right in front of Kaito.

"Why are you only just arriving? Don't you know I've been waiting for you for ages?!"

The S-class Rank 2 hero had, for once, set aside her signature black high-slit cheongsam, opting instead for a dark green, backless cocktail dress.

Although she still had a petite, loli-like physique, her exquisite makeup and carefully styled curls made her look a few shades more mature than usual.

Tatsumaki's gaze quickly shifted from Kaito to the sight of her sister's hand clasped tightly around his arm.

Her large emerald eyes instantly narrowed, and the air around them seemed to solidify.
