Chapter 19 - A Strange Village

[WHERE CLOVER VENTURES]

(SCENE)

Clover is in an old dungeon room and watches Bell use ancient magic to build a teleportation device, which they plan to use to get out of the ruins.

Clover Winslow: "Bell, how long is it going to take for you to make the device?" *She looks at Bell whilst being seated on the floor.*

Bell Zymen: "Why be so impatient? I'll be done in a matter of minutes."

Clover Winslow: "Well, I want to get out of here as soon as possible." *She pouts.*

A strange flashing light suddenly comes from where Bell is building the teleportation device.

Bell Zymen: "It's done. Come over here so we can leave the ruins."

Clover Winslow: "Coming." *She runs over to where the teleportation device is, excitedly.*

Bell tells Clover to touch the teleportation device and pour mana into it. Clover pours mana into the teleportation device, and a 3-second countdown starts showing up on the stone pillar (teleportation device). Clover becomes slightly more alert when she notices the pillar light up, but doesn't move and waits for the countdown to finish.

(SCENE)

Clover is teleported to the entrance of a village on the outskirts of Zalon that she had never been to before. She tries to ask Bell if he knew of the location that they had been, but is told that, since he had been stuck in the ruins for so long, he didn't know much of the modern world outside of what it had been like a few thousand years ago.

Clovers' Inner Monologue: "Since I've been teleported to a village I've never been to before, it's probably best I keep a low profile until I find out more about this place."

Clover enters the village and tries to find the adventurers' guild, so she can take on quests to earn a bit of money before nightfall, so she can have someplace to sleep and not have to camp out.

(TEN MINUTES LATER)

Clover looked around the village for a while and eventually found what looked like an adventurer's guild; however, it gave off a very strange aura. Clover decided to ignore the odd feeling she got from the place and went into the guild house.

When Clover entered the building, she was met with the stares of a few dozen adventurers, but most of them quickly averted their eyes, whilst others lingered in the dark and continued to look over and see what she was to do.

Clover looked around for a second before finding where the reception personnel had been and heading over to them. Clover got to the table and took out her adventurer's card, along with asking if it was valid for use within whatever village she had been in, and also informed them that she lost her party, so she doesn't know what the name of the village is.

The receptionist took her card and looked over to confirm her identity. Clover was informed that the village she had been in had no name, and was run independently, and was self-sustained by the people that lived in it, so as long as her identity was recorded, she could accept quests and such.

Clover then asked where the nearest Inn had been; however, she was informed that the guild offered housing for adventurers. Clover asked how much it would cost for the night. The receptionist said that it would cost 2 Silver for a night.

Clover asked if they could use guild points as payment, but was informed that if she wanted to use them, she'd be buying 2 days and 3 nights in the guild housing area, because the cards use a full point, unless one wants to receive coins as compensation for the point usage, which would cause a fee to be deduced of over half what the left over amount would be for the point.

Clover said she wouldn't mind, as she'd be in town for a while. Clover told the receptionist if they had rooms, and she was told they did. Clover asked to check how many points she had, and when they looked over her card using magic, it showed 7 guild points (70 Silver).

Clover then told the receptionist to take 1, and book her a room for 2 days and 3 nights.

(SCENE)

Clover left the receptionist after booking a room and getting her key for the guild housing area, then went on to check the adventurers' board for any quests she could do, so she could earn back the money she spent, and also practice the new skills and abilities she gained to make a contract with Bell Zymen.

At the quest board, Clover saw a small variety of quests, mainly either very difficult ones, or ones that didn't compensate people much and where high effort. Amongst the quests she saw, one of them caught her eye, but she didn't pick the quest. Because it required a party of at least 5 people to even take it on.

As Clover then looked over the other quests that had been there, she found one that she thought might be perfect for her, and would allow her to practice whatever skills and new abilities she may have gotten, while getting a decent payday.

Clover took the quest paper off the quest board and went back towards the reception, so she could accept the quest and be on her way.

(SCENE)

Clover got approval to take the quest and was given a time limit of 12 hours to complete the quest, before it would be reposted, and fair game towards those she might compete against in the wilderness, in order for her to complete it.

Clover made her way out of the guild building after accepting the quest and decided to try and find a potions shop, so she could restock on what she had lost in the ruins.

(FIVE MINUTES LATER)

Clover found a merchant's shop that sold potions and decided to go into it, so she could buy a few mana potions. When she entered the she saw a selection of potions that she could use and decided to take 3 of them, and went to the front desk to ask if they accepted guild points and was told that they do, so she bought the potions at the cost of 1 guild point (10 Silver).

Clover left the shop and the village and started traveling towards the location she had to be for the quest she had taken up. As she left the village, Bell suddenly told her that she was being followed, but Clover said she knew she was, as it's likely the people who originally kidnapped her a while back that are following her, and she remembers their aura.
