"According to the information provided by Mephisto."
"The target is in this community."
Robbie and Johnny parked the car.
Their eyes were fixed on the neighborhood where Aron was located.
In order not to scare the target, neither of them had transformed into Ghost Rider.
"Robbie, do you know this man? Do you think he's guilty?"
"I don't know."
"But I heard… supposedly he fought in the Second New York War."
Robbie shook his head.
He was young and had never paid much attention to the news.
He only knew surface-level information about the target. He didn't even know the details of the Ultron crisis.
The only thing known was that there had been a dangerous AI, stopped in a mysterious way, but who did it remained unknown.
"The Eye of Judgment will give us the answer."
Johnny sighed.
Having reached middle age, he was no longer as reckless as he once was.
Most importantly, he no longer wanted to be Mephisto's weapon, maiming innocent people.
"If he really is on the side of good, I'd rather fight Mephisto for a few more years than attack him."
Robbie fell silent.
He didn't have the luxury of refusing a mission like Johnny. Johnny was a free man, but he was not.
Mephisto controlled the soul of his uncle, Eli, which was bound to the flaming spirit within him.
"Let's go."
Johnny and Robbie slowly stepped into the neighborhood.
They didn't notice that their entire conversation had been overheard by a blonde girl moving nearby.
"Target?"
"Fighter from the Second New York War?"
"Isn't that Aron!?"
At first, Gwen was just buying a cup of milk tea at a nearby shop.
But then she spotted two mysterious men in black leather, suspiciously parking by the roadside.
At first glance, they looked dangerous.
"No! I have to stop them!"
She put down the milk tea, ran into a side alley, and took off her coat.
Underneath, her black-and-white Spider-Gwen suit was revealed.
Unlike the classic Spider-Man costume, her suit had a hood with red lining, while thin red web-like lines traced across her arms.
...
Meanwhile.
The house of Ben Parker, next to Aron's.
Upstairs, in Peter Parker's room, came the sound of sparks and welding blows.
"It will finally be finished."
Peter Parker was exhausted. He hadn't gone out for days, and stubble had already started growing on his face.
In front of him was a handmade suit of armor, somewhat similar to Iron Man's Mark 1 model, only much smaller and unfinished.
It wasn't fully enclosed. For flexibility, metal mainly covered the joints, while the rest was made of chemical fibers—a material similar to what's used in bulletproof vests.
"With this armor, I'll be able to protect Uncle Ben and Aunt May."
Peter ran his hand over the rough metal.
The sight of the last demon invasion was still fresh in his memory.
During the evacuation, he had seen the frightened eyes of Uncle Ben and Aunt May. At that moment, he promised himself never to leave them unprotected again.
"Mr. Stark managed to make his first suit in a cave."
"Then I, who have much better conditions,"
"Will also make one."
He turned and looked at the Iron Man poster stuck to the wall.
Tony Stark had become his role model and the force driving him forward.
This rough armor was the result of his own version of Stark's genius.
"I sent in an application for an internship at Stark Industries. If they accept me, this summer I can…"
He didn't finish the sentence.
Because a loud noise echoed through the window.
---
Rumble.
Johnny Blaze looked at his beloved Harley-Davidson.
The motorcycle was smashed in front of him as if it were just a regular brick. His eyelids twitched, and he couldn't hide his unease.
He stepped forward to check. Luckily, this was no ordinary motorcycle. It was a hellcycle, transformed by the power of the Spirit of Vengeance. Even if someone knocked it down, it wouldn't suffer serious damage.
But Johnny was still dissatisfied.
"Girl," he said seriously. "You made a mistake. Leave now, you can still walk away without punishment."
His gaze fell on Gwen, who stood on a streetlamp.
Just a moment ago, that girl in the spider suit had used her web to pull the motorcycle, knocking it down right in front of Johnny and Robbie.
Johnny was older. He no longer had the hot temper he once did. In the past, just that act alone would have been enough for him to burn her several times over.
"I'm not the one who needs to leave!" Gwen jumped from the streetlamp and blocked their path. "You are!"
"Looks like we've been exposed. This girl is connected to the one we're looking for," Robbie Reyes muttered.
Without hesitation, he summoned his power.
Hellfire engulfed his body, burned away his flesh, and revealed a skeleton in a leather jacket. Robbie transformed into the Spirit of Vengeance.
Boom.
The old muscle car parked nearby trembled, its engines roared, and the entire vehicle was wrapped in blazing hellfire. The exhaust pipes spewed flames as the car drove itself up to Robbie, ready for battle.
"Girl, leave now!" Robbie drew his weapon, a flaming chain, and pointed it at Gwen.
"…"
Gwen's face under the mask turned pale. This was the first time she was facing other superhumans since becoming Spider-Man. And the two of them looked far too terrifying.
Even so, Gwen did not back down. She stayed between Robbie and Johnny.
"I don't know who you are, but your skeletons are not allowed to pass!" she shouted firmly.
"Child, listen," Johnny said in a calm but dark voice. "We're not here for you. We don't want to hurt you."
Then he transformed as well.
His body was engulfed in flames, his flesh disappeared, and his skull turned into blazing fire. Johnny Blaze, the true Spirit of Vengeance, was a terrifying sight.
His flame was darker, the aura of vengeance and damnation much heavier than Robbie's. From the black eye sockets echoed darkness, as if it would swallow every soul it looked upon.
"You… you guys…" Gwen was paralyzed with fear.
When Robbie transformed, her spider sense reacted, warning her the opponent was dangerous.
But when Johnny transformed, her instincts exploded in her head. The alarm rang as if death itself stood before her.
Despite this, Gwen didn't step back even an inch.
"No matter how many of you there are! You will not pass!"
Knock, knock.
The sound of heavy footsteps echoed down the street.
"Spider-Woman, I'll help you!" shouted Peter Parker.
In the improvised armor he had built himself, Peter rushed out, his steps pounding against the asphalt.
He didn't recognize that it was Gwen under the mask. But without hesitation, he stood by her side. If he had to choose between a girl in a spider suit and two burning skeletons, the choice was obvious.
"…"
Johnny glanced at Robbie.
This was turning into chaos.
"Didn't you say only one person was hiding here?" he asked, his tone full of doubt.
Robbie didn't have time to answer. At that moment, the door to Aron's house opened.
On the threshold stepped out Elektra, silent, katana in hand.
Right behind her appeared Felicia in her combat suit.
Then Wanda.
Skye.
And finally Aron, who calmly observed everything that was happening, as if watching a play.
"It's very lively," he said calmly.
