Chapter 64 - Episode 64 – The First Bond of Light

Arrival on a New World

The portal fades, and Shammroy stumbles onto the soil of a strange planet.

The air is heavy, filled with the scent of wild plants and trees stretching into the distance.

He takes a deep breath, raises both brows, and whispers to himself,

Shammroy ,softly, sighing,

"What kind of place… have I landed in? Hush…"

The crunch of shattered leaves echoes beneath his boots as he walks under the long shadows of trees.

Suddenly, the ground trembles. A violent vibration roars closer and closer.

Shammroy turns—eyes widening.

A monstrous beast charges toward him, hunger blazing in its gaze.

Shammroy , shocked,

"Tch! Not good!"

He sprints with everything he has, weaving through the trees, heart pounding. The monster thrashes behind him, clawing the ground. Finally, breathless and drenched in sweat, Shammroy dives into the tall bushes by the shore.

Exhausted, he lies flat on the grass, panting. Then—clash! clash! Metallic echoes ring through the air.

Shammroy slowly rises, peeking through the bushes.

The Broken Challenger

In the clearing, two teenagers duel under the watch of an older man. Sparks fly with every strike, but soon one boy collapses to the ground, defeated. He staggers back to his feet, defiance in his eyes.

Teenager , panting,

"Again! I'll challenge you again!"

But the adult man steps forward, his tone sharp and merciless.

Mentor , furious,

"This is the 43rd time you've lost! Enough! You're nothing but a shameful proof of your father's words—a rejected piece!"

The victorious boy leaves with the mentor, but the defeated one remains, gasping for breath. His knees shake. His chest heaves. Then, tears roll down his face as he collapses to the ground, sobbing.

Teenager , broken voice, sobbing,

"Why? Why am I like this? Even death refuses me… Why does my fate always betray me? Am I truly nothing… nothing but a mistake?!"

His cries echo through the silent woods. Slowly, he drags himself up and walks away.

The Mockery of the Town

His pale face is lifeless, eyes hollow. As he enters the town, whispers ripple through the crowd. Soon, words turn to stones.

Villagers , mocking,

"There he goes—the weak one!"

"The failure who can't even stand straight!"

"Rejected by his own blood!"

Garbage and rocks are hurled at him. But he doesn't react. He keeps walking, calm but broken, each step heavier than the last.

Suddenly—

Shammroy ,voice from above, teasing,

"Oye! Where are you going?"

The teenager looks up. Against the light, a shadowed figure sits casually on a rooftop.

Shammroy leaps down, landing before him with a grin.

Shammroy , proudly,

"I'm Shammroy. Tell me, will you join my legion?"

The teenager's eyes harden. His voice turns cold.

Teenager,

"I'm not interested in your nonsense. Leave me alone."

Shammroy ,frowning,

"What? Why so rude?"

The teenager suddenly grabs his collar, anger spilling over.

Teenager , furious,

"Go away! I don't want anyone in my life! Just disappear!"

He shoves Shammroy back and runs off, vanishing into the crowd.

The Evening Attack

As the sun dips into twilight, the teenager wanders aimlessly through the forest. His heart feels heavier with every step. Suddenly—

ROOOAR!

A monster bursts from the shadows, lunging at him. He tries to fight back, but his strikes are weak. His arms bleed, his body collapses under the beast's might.

Blood drips from his hand. His eyes flutter closed, accepting the cruel fate.

Teenager whispering, defeated,

"So this… is how it ends…"

But then—THUD!

The monster crashes to the ground, slammed aside by a powerful strike. Dust rises.

Through the haze, Shammroy stands tall, hand extended toward him, smiling.

Shammroy , confident, warm,

"Come on. Get up."

The teenager blinks, stunned.

Teenager , weakly, trembling voice,

"Why… why are you following me? Just leave me alone…"

Shammroy grins, shaking his head.

Shammroy , firm, smiling,

"Because you're my friend! If I choose someone as part of my legion, I'll go to the ends of the world to bring him back. That's my word. So—if you want to stand with me, take my hand. If not, I won't force you."

The boy stares at him, tears brimming in his eyes. For the first time, he feels the warmth of someone who refuses to abandon him. Slowly… he places his hand in Shammroy's.

Shammroy bursts into laughter, pulling him up.

Shammroy , playful,

"Finally! At least now, tell me your name?"

The boy wipes his tears, steadying himself.

Teenager ,soft but resolute,

"My name… is Querion."

The Present

Back in the present, inside the den, Querion sits among his companions, eyes still closed. A faint smile forms as pride fills his voice.

Querion , calm, proud,

"From that day forward… he became my light. My hope."

The camera fades into the memory—Shammroy's smiling face, his hand reaching out through the sunset light.
