CHAPTER 18
Bob got out of the train and got on the car that he had rent for himself on a butler hiring service. This service allowed rich people to hire butlers temporarily, whom would take care of his needs. He had to get a membership in Trevor's chain of hotels and resorts to avail this service and he liked it when he found that the butler had arrived in a good luxury car along with 2 bodyguards.
He sat inside the car and after reaching the hotel, checked in the king's level room in the hotel.
Morning had arrived and Bob had reached the office where the interview would occur. He had indeed got enough information and he was sure to pass the interview as he had got information by making aura copy of them and letting the copy speak out all truth.
The fact remained that strong people will have impact on the world unless they are killed or suppressed. A strong man is needed to suppress them as weak men would be defeated easily. Unless they are willing to break the rules which they built, they cannot suppress the rise of such people. Strong men have their own positions in the world.
They are either elites in a particular profession, or leaders of bigger companies, leaders of government departments, bureaucrats, businessmen or military leaders. So when someone with enough money and talent to earn such money without any background applies to become a bureaucrat, he will surely be given a direct position of an independent bureaucrat. If he cannot learn within 3 years, he will be asked to resign in a gentle manner. He also found from that if he had asked to join the military, he would have got a higher position such as that of a political commissar of a military squad to be trained to be that of being a political commissar of a division.
But he wanted to be a bureaucrat and he preferred to be an independent bureaucrat rather than being a bureaucrat in a system and being asked to join a department. Independent bureaucrats (IB) are either given the position due to their special talents which only needs them to work at special times or for some beings who had made enough merits and are given such position as a reward without any power. He wanted to be someone with power. Such IB are given missions or orders directly by governors of the state, national level department heads, president of the state or the head of the legislative assembly. IB can deny any request other than that from the president. Each of their actions are marked and analyzed and hence they are given more authority or will have their authority reduced.
So when he entered the building and sat among hundreds of people to be interviewed, he was sitting there with absolute confidence. He entered when his chance came and he looked at five bureaucrat who were different department heads or were ambassadors.
He smiled and nodded to them and after greeting them, he sat on the chair at the center.
The one at the centre, who was the ambassador to Lorrenvia named Ezra Jackson. The second one was the head of the defence research centre named Anthony Ward. The third one was the head of military procurement division who usually dealt with foreign governments named Grayson Morris. The fourth one was the governor of this state named Ella Moore. The fifth one was the retired head of the secretariat team of the president of Circe named Maverick Parker.
Ezra smiled and said, "Please sit down Mr. Bob Bennet. We are happy that you have decided to join our bureaucrats as your choice of job. Do you have any idea about your possible future assignments if you are chosen?"
Bob smiled and said, "If you are talking about the fact about me being talented enough o be given a direct access to the position of Independent Bureaucrat, I have got some news about it. Unless this statement of mine is false, my thoughts now are that I know how my assignments could possibly be."
Ezra said, "I had thought that you had no political or bureaucratic background. You should not have joined a party, right?"
Bob smiled and said, "I keep in mind to use all the resources I have to increase my chances of success."
Ezra nodded and said, "Your choice is right. You will be assigned the position of IB and given the rights of one as your talent in business and making money will allow you to perform and accomplish some important missions. As for later, if you want, you shall also be trained to be a head of a department as per the need. Maybe one day you might even become the president. But before all of that ,we need to have an interview to understand what kind of person you are."
She talked in a calm and gentle manner without showing much authority as Bob was a person who could become a high level player in the game of power. If the play of power was to be considered in this country with about a billion citizens could be said to be divided into various classes working together. The businessmen were not much higher as they would still have no much power. But they could sponsor parties and other members of legislative assembly to get support. But they are not allowed to support bureaucrats. The members, ministers and prime minsters formed another system of power known as the legislative system. They have the power to make laws, remove laws and modify laws. They have the right to propose movements and has the right to vote down a movement chosen by the bureaucrats or president.
The officials, bureaucrats, department heads, ambassadors and president were the ones who had learnt the laws and system and were trained to run the country. They have the absolute right to veto any motion put forwards by any member of the legislative group. The minister of defence could pass a motion in the legislative assembly to increase the salary and increase the number of soldiers to be hired but the head of defence and security can veto it down even if prime minister supports it as long as it is not a viable option. They have the right to modify it and sent the motion back, expecting them to either accept it or to let down the motion.
The president is selected from all bureaucrats. There is an internal election among bureaucrats depending on the current strength and achievements of the person. The final 3 candidates are announced and the three tier voting occurs among three separate electoral system to choose among the 3 to become the president for 10 years, unlike the prime minister who is only elected by the members who were elected by the people of the regions only had a tenure of 5 years. So bureaucrats were indeed a strong group and both legislates and bureaucrats ran the government.
The judicial system was a separate system that included lawyers and judges. Then there was the military system that was under the national government and internal police under the president and prime minister and the top cabinet circle. Then there was the police system which was the common police known to people which was specific to each state, directly answerable to the governor.
So someone strong like him could join any group other than the judicial group that needed him to get a degree and follow their internal rules. So when they showed goodwill, Bob smiled and acted as if he was a junior, yearning for the guidance of the seniors.
Both sides knew that they were acting but that was what maintained the society, good manner and etiquette! Both of them knew that if Bob used his potential and became stronger and climbed up to their ranks, they will talk as equals regardless of age and seniority and if he gets a higher position, they shall respect him. This was not the political arena where acting was needed as per the culture, giving more respect to old and seniors, giving respect to the wise. Bureaucrats believed in one thing, action completion. Those who have succeeded is respected.
Ezra smiled and asked, "You have earned more than 530 billion within 6 months. You have opened up a lot of companies in different fields and we can see no possibility of you losing money. What are your plans about your personal business?"
Bob smiled and said, "Money is nothing more than a reference. You should be asking what I plan to do with the resources I hold in my hand. You should know that I alone am enough to feed more than 60 million people milk daily and this is when I have not expanded the business when I could have. I have sold a million tons of sausage to my contact who plans to use it to export it and use it within the nation. I still have another million ton of sausage and black rice of the highest quality. Each one of my production is of the highest quality without any adulteration, The question you should ask is what I plan to do with the extra million ton of food that could be used as a bargain with countries like Abizur and Kairana with enough money but lacking food. And since the food is my personal property, it should be a good choice to make personal deal with envoys of other nations when I want something from them."
Grayson smiled and said, "A million ton of food is just enough to feed 4 million people a year. Why have you not sold it yet?"
Bob smiled and said, "The nation works without me. I do not want to flood the market now."
The five of them nodded. Grayson smiled and said, "I will give you some contacts. But speak, what would you do when you are threatened by the officer of another nation when you have direct support of force. "
Bob smiled and waved his hands and the tables and chairs at the side rose slightly. He smiled and said, "I am a warrior as mentioned in the history. Bullets and small scale explosions cannot hurt me and the boundary cannot block me as I can fly. No radar is strong enough to detect someone small as me, if I want to hide."
Anthony asked in doubt, "There are records of warriors and saints in the history of other nations. Are there other warriors like you in other nation? Can you train people to become stronger like you and if so are you willing and if you are willing what price should be paid to you? "
Bob spoke out in a serious manner, "I do not know about other nations and their internal situation. Other than my teacher, I have not seen any other warrior. As for training others,, I have no such plans. But if needed, I am willing to provide the military and the leaders with certain pills that can strengthen the body, enhance the physique and lifespan, enhance the beauty and strengthen the brain. But the number of such aura pills are low. The cost should be discussed later."
All of them nodded. Grayson asked, "What are you views on Athens and Atlanta?"
Bob smiled and said, "Both of them are barbaric. One completely follows the aristocratic mode of governance while the other follows a pure centralized governance based on meritocracy. Even a murder can be forgiven as long a man has enough merits to offset it. But when I deal with them, I shall deal with them rationally."
Ezra shook her head and said, "You have certain prejudice against those two nations who stand strongest in this world. You should learn more about their culture and strength before going there. You will go there one day as you are strong and will be given missions."
Bob nodded. Ezra asked, "Do you plan to stay in this nation first or go to another country for learning?"
Bob said, "One should learn first about oneself before conquering the world. If I am to deal with other nations, I should know more than enough about my own nation."
The five of them spoke to each other and Ella said, "You are selected and you are to given the rights of an independent bureaucrat. As for your training, you shall be given individual training under Mr. Maverick Parker. You shall graduate and receive the certificate and official identity of IB when you pass the theoretical and practical exams when you are ready."
Bob nodded. Maverick smiled and said, "You should enjoy the free time you have now. You have to come with me after three days. I will call you."
Bob nodded and left after they ended the conversation.
