Chapter 338 - Chapter 337

Chapter 337 A Conversation About Peace

He proposed bringing the two children to end this war.

Though the idea of bringing two children to end a war seemed arrogant, when Brett said it, naturally that changed everything.

Forget bringing two children—even carrying two infants, Brett possessed the ability to easily conclude this nation's civil war.

"Oh! That sounds super interesting!"

Nana's eyes already sparkled. She grinned. "How should we do it, Brett-niisan?!"

Brett glanced at her with disdain.

You little dummy don't need this lesson. Sometimes a simpler mind was actually better—fewer things to worry about.

Brett looked at Shirahoshi, waiting for the little princess's answer.

Even someone as oblivious as Nana noticed Brett's attitude. She huffed indignantly, her cheeks puffing like a chipmunk with two chestnuts stuffed inside.

The little princess didn't hesitate much. She nodded heavily. "I want to end this war!"

The young princess had realized for the first time the harm war brought. Voices coming from all directions made tears stream uncontrollably down her face.

"So then—"

A smile spread across Brett's face. Then he asked softly, "Shirahoshi, how do you think we should proceed?"

"Obviously we should beat up both sides really hard!"

Nana fiercely waved her small fists, throwing phantom punches. "They're the ones who made this country like this, right?! Give them all a good thrashing so they stop fighting!"

"Nana, be quiet."

Brett rolled his eyes.

Should he say that was so typical of Nana? The solutions she came up with were always so simple and brutal.

Though to be fair, this wasn't actually an impossible method.

Or rather, this approach had quite a high success rate.

Brett was confident—as long as he showed himself, captured both sides and beat them thoroughly, then told them they weren't allowed to continue fighting, neither side would dare defy his authority to resume war.

But unfortunately, this time he was asking for Shirahoshi's opinion.

"Eh? Why?! That's so mean!"

Nana pouted, deeply offended at being ignored.

The little princess looked distressed, extremely conflicted. "Brett-niisan, you want me to decide?"

"That's right."

Brett nodded. "We've traveled this far, and you've learned many things, haven't you, Shirahoshi? Consider this your final exam."

"Don't feel any pressure. Go ahead and say what you think—how should we stop this country's war?"

"..."

The little princess hesitated, then sniffled. "I... I think if we could get both sides to sit down and talk, if everyone could speak openly, wouldn't that stop the war?"

"Eh?"

Before Brett could speak, Nana was already waving her hands repeatedly. "That definitely won't work! If they could talk it out, they would've done it already."

Brett patted Nana's head to make her quiet, then smiled. "That's a very Shirahoshi-like answer. Let's give it a try then."

"Eh?"

Nana looked up, staring at Brett incredulously. "Brett-niisan, are you serious?"

Brett smiled. "You should have more faith in me, Nana. Stopping this country's war is quite simple."

Not arrogance—just simple fact.

"Wow!"

Nana's mouth dropped open. "Brett-niisan..."

That's so bold!

"Then Brett-niisan," Shirahoshi sniffled, asking hopefully, "can you get both sides' leaders to sit down and talk properly?"

"That's very simple."

Brett nodded lightly. "Then let's begin now!"

"Eh? Brett-niisan, are you sure this is okay?"

Nana felt this seemed a bit hasty, didn't it?

But regardless, the operation to end this country's war began just that hastily.

Brett transformed into a red dragon, carrying the two children on clouds away from this city toward the capital.

Getting both sides' leaders to sit down and talk—wasn't that simple?

This country's territory was much larger than typical non-affiliated nations—a massive island with several cities.

But for Brett's speed, naturally this meant nothing. Before long, Brett had already brought the two children above the capital's skies.

"Hey! What's that?!"

The capital's residents noticed—a red dragon descending from the heavens, swimming through the sky.

"A dragon! It's a dragon!"

"Is it Kaido? Has Kaido come?!"

People cried out in alarm.

This country was ostensibly under the Beasts Pirates' protection.

Though they hadn't really protected it at all—even the weapons both sides of the civil war used came from Wano Country.

People had every reason to recognize Kaido.

"No! Kaido's blue! This one's red!"

"It's the fish-man Brett! The Deep Sea Emperor who stands alongside Kaido!!"

See? As mentioned, Brett's fame in this world was quite high.

Brett paid no mind to the alarmed citizens, heading straight above the fairly magnificent palace.

Then flame clouds surged out, wrapping around the palace's upper section and violently tearing off the entire roof.

"Waaah!"

The people inside the palace screaming in alarm were now completely exposed.

"Ah, found him."

Brett searched briefly. Using his Observation Haki, he quickly located the most lavishly dressed and imperious fellow.

Then clouds swept down and wrapped around that person.

"Wait! What are you doing, Your Majesty the Deep Sea Emperor?!"

The man screamed in alarm. "This country is under Lord Kaido's protection! Aren't you two allies?!"

Oh right.

He'd nearly forgotten—years ago that Morgans guy had spread news about a Three Emperors Alliance.

People worldwide apparently still believed he, Charlotte Linlin, and Kaido were all allied.

How amusing.

"Be quiet. It's not your turn to speak yet."

Brett smiled, ignoring His Majesty's struggles, and turned toward another part of the country.

Next he needed to bring the rebel army's leader as well.

This likewise wasn't particularly difficult.

Before coming to this country—or rather, before this entire journey began—Brett had already thoroughly researched this nation's situation.

You had to prepare before teaching a lesson, right?

And so, soon accompanied by continuous alarmed cries from another city, the rebel army's leader was also carried skyward by Brett's clouds.

The peace talks were about to begin.
