Chapter 339 - Chapter 338

Chapter 338: The Beginning of Peace?

While Brett gathered both representatives for peace negotiations, news of his appearance in this country reached those most eager to know at maximum speed.

"He's finally appeared! Excellent! That mermaid princess is with him after all!"

In Pangaea Castle's Room of Authority, Saint Saturn excitedly pumped his fist. "The perfect opportunity has arrived!"

"What should we do? Notify that person immediately?"

Saint Ju Peter said. "Have them dispatch that thing to eliminate Brett completely in one decisive stroke!"

"That's certainly the best method. Even a man as powerful as Brett can only be utterly destroyed in an instant when facing that thing!"

Saint Mars nodded lightly. "But deploying that thing requires some time. That country is somewhat too distant from here."

"But it's very close to Kaido and Charlotte Linlin, isn't it?"

Saint Warcury sneered coldly. "Then let them serve one final purpose! As long as they can delay Brett even slightly, that's sufficient!"

"Indeed!"

Saint Nusjuro also nodded lightly. "This time we'll bury them completely. The Beasts Pirates and Charlotte Family should become history soon enough!"

"Let their destruction mark the beginning of ending the Great Pirate Era and cleansing the entire world!"

"Agreed!"

In this room where the world's power concentrated, the Five Elders reached their final decision.

Then the New World's monsters immediately responded.

"Worororororo! That bastard Brett finally appeared?"

On Onigashima, the monster laughed loudly. "Hey, Doffy! Time for revenge!"

"Fufufufufu! How exciting indeed."

Nearby, the man wearing a pink feather coat curved his lips in a low chuckle. "So Kaido, this time you're joining forces with the Charlotte Family?"

"Tch."

Kaido sneered with displeasure. "Have to admit, that Brett bastard possesses extraordinary power!"

Doflamingo's smile faded slightly.

He still vaguely remembered—when first meeting that Brett fellow, the strength he displayed had been inferior to his own.

Though partly because he hadn't revealed his ability, the power gap between them probably hadn't been large then. After all, he hadn't used his awakening either.

But after just these few years, their strength difference had become like heaven and earth.

That guy had already become a true monster surpassing even Kaido.

"Hmph! The government only wants me and Linlin to move while they stay out of it?"

Kaido said coldly. "Think they can brush this off saying they're too far away? What a joke!"

"Even so, probably only Kizaru could arrive in time, right?"

Doflamingo said somewhat regretfully. "That's quite a shame. I wanted to see what kind of strength those two monsters who stood out in the military draft and seized admiral titles possess."

"Don't worry about such boring things!"

Kaido said coldly. What did mere Navy admirals matter?

Right now only one thing mattered—that bastard Brett!

Totto Land, Whole Cake Island.

"Mamamama! That bastard Brett finally appeared! Then let's hurry and give him a huge surprise this time!"

Charlotte Linlin summoned the family's officers, laughing heartily as she announced the expedition.

Katakuri standing at her right lowered his brow.

How careless, Brett.

Didn't I tell you to be more careful?

You're really causing me trouble.

Trevern Kingdom.

Both warring sides had now stopped fighting.

No helping it—a monster they couldn't possibly handle had appeared on the battlefield.

At the battle's front line, in a city nearly at the country's center, both sides of the conflict spread outward from a central street.

Both forces were fully armed, but their expressions showed immense tension.

Because in this street's center, a meeting determining this nation's future direction was being held.

"Thanks."

Atop a building beside the street, Brett hung up the phone after his good friend's report.

He shook his head somewhat helplessly.

Looked like he needed to hurry this along.

Brett jumped down from the roof, landing before the mutually appraising king and rebel leader.

"Didn't I tell you to open your hearts and talk properly? Why haven't you started?"

The king and the rebel leader exchanged glances, both swallowing hard.

Which of this Deep Sea Emperor's nerves had misfired?

Why would he inexplicably come manage a civil war in such a marginal human nation?

And so naively tell them to sit down, open their hearts, and end the war through conversation.

If this war could be resolved by sitting and chatting, how could it have lasted so many years?

"L-Lord Brett—"

His Majesty the King said tremulously. "Are you serious?"

"Of course."

Brett nodded lightly.

"As long as you two can communicate with open hearts—"

The little princess said hopefully. "You'll definitely understand each other's difficulties, then end this war."

"This country is too pitiful. Don't let the war continue."

They really were serious!

The civil war's two leaders wanted to speak but hesitated.

What should they say in this situation?

His Majesty thought, then spoke righteously. "You bastard, why did you raise the flag of rebellion? Do you know what disaster your betrayal brought this country?"

The rebel leader rolled his eyes, then spoke with equal indignation. "Don't spout nonsense at me! If not for your tyranny making it impossible for people to survive, why would we have revolted?"

You really dare say that?

When have you ever cared about those lowlifes' lives?

The king sneered coldly. "Even now, you still try to frame this king! Despicable wretch!"

"I'm merely stating facts!" The rebel leader likewise sneered.

Then the two descended into lengthy mutual recriminations.

Basically throwing blame back and forth, trying to pin responsibility for triggering the civil war on each other.

In short, the negotiations bore no fruit.

Brett shook his head.

He looked at Shirahoshi.

So, Shirahoshi—what will you do in this situation?

"Please stop this!"

Shirahoshi cried. She sobbed. "Can't you feel it? This country's people's wishes!"

"They just want to live properly! Why won't you give them that chance?"

Brett sensed it—a wave of sorrow and pain striking directly at the heart.

Wow. She'd inherited even this?

His Majesty and the rebel leader's expressions changed instantly.

They froze, staring blankly at Shirahoshi, their eyes showing profound shock.

Seemingly, the beginning of peace was about to appear.
