Konoha-style Taijutsu is a complete martial arts system, covering punches and kicks, but at its core—it's basic.

It shares a name with another technique Kitazawa encountered before—Konoha-style Swordsmanship, used by Gekko Hayate. That one? Way tougher and hits harder.

Plus, Konoha-style Taijutsu doesn't even have any flashy signature moves like the A-rank Dance of the Crescent Moon.

Still, for most civilian-born ninjas, it's the only full-body combat system they can even hope to learn.

For today's combat class, Kitazawa split things into two parts: explanation first, live drills after.

And during practice, everyone's natural ability really started to show.

Fast learners: Sasuke, Hinata, and Naruto picked it up fast.

Decent group: Ino, Sakura, and Choji followed not far behind.

Everyone else? Yeah... for most of the civilian kids, this'll take at least six months, maybe a full year. Not even the best teacher can shortcut that.

Kitazawa glanced at Naruto and remembered his own hidden quest: to help Naruto beat Sasuke at least once.

The reward's solid—+10% chakra capacity—but the challenge? Not easy. He'd put it off until now.

But after watching Naruto's fight with Rock Lee, Kitazawa felt something shift. This might actually be doable.

If Naruto went full "justice mob style" and overwhelmed Sasuke with numbers, there was a chance.

Just a chance, though. Not a guarantee.

And part of the blame? Falls on Kitazawa himself—he's been putting Sasuke through some serious training lately. Kid leveled up.

Naruto's gang-up strategy is nasty, no doubt—but in the end, he's still human. Sasuke could win if he keeps his cool and kites him with Fire Style.

Then it hit Kitazawa: Multi Shadow Clone Jutsu.

If Naruto had that in his toolkit, the odds would shift big-time.

Too bad it's a forbidden technique, sealed in the Scroll of Seals. Only the Hokage can grant access.

And Mizuki? He's already been dealt with—no chance of reusing that plotline.

Kitazawa sighed. That whole "Mizuki tricks Naruto into stealing the scroll" thing? Not happening anymore.

Time for a new plan: Naruto needed some hands-on fire combat training.

The sparring partner? Who else but Kitazawa's own shadow clone.

It was a bit unfair to Sasuke, sure—but hey, mission's mission. Besides, with everything he's taught Sasuke, it's time for some payback. It's just a regular end-of-semester exam anyway.

And if Sasuke ever gets a similar quest later? Kitazawa would back him too.

His motto? Flexible morals. Help whoever helps you.

"Alright, that's it for today's combat class. Go home and practice when you've got time."

As soon as the bell rang, Kitazawa dismissed them.

"Yes, Kitazawa-sensei!"

The kids in Class 1-A scattered like startled birds.

He was just about to leave when someone called his name. Turning around, he was surprised—it was Vice Principal Sarutobi Hisao.

Him? Showing up personally?

Normally, if there was news, he'd send another teacher to deliver it.

"Principal, something up?" Kitazawa asked as he walked over.

"June's monthly exam is coming," Hisao said. "We've got a quick meeting scheduled for 8:30 AM tomorrow in the conference room."

"Alright." Kitazawa nodded. Then asked, "But why the personal visit today?"

"Because there's more," Hisao smiled. "You're leading the meeting."

"…Me?"

Kitazawa blinked in disbelief.

Usually, it was Hisao who ran these meetings.

"Forgot your new role already?" Hisao clapped his shoulder. "I was just filling in while the position was open."

Kitazawa paused—then it clicked: he was now the Head of Academic Affairs.

Running the meeting was his job now.

"We haven't made the appointment public yet, so we'll announce it at the same time."

Hisao gave him a smile. "Congrats, Kitazawa. You're officially the youngest academic lead in school history."

"Thank you, Principal," Kitazawa replied modestly. "It'll be my first time running one of these. Please go easy on me."

"Of course."

Hisao's tone was easygoing.

Why? Because Kitazawa's rise was lightning-fast. Which usually means one of two things: serious skills—or powerful backing.

Kitazawa had both. Hisao had been around the block long enough to recognize potential—and how to treat it.

"I'll be there on time," Kitazawa promised.

"Good. See you then."

Hisao left.

Later, Kitazawa arrived at Kurenai Yuhi's house.

"Tsunade-sama's not here yet," Kurenai said as she opened the door, smiling. "Can't wait to see her face when you bust out the Rasengan."

"Too late," Kitazawa replied as he flopped onto the couch. "She already came by earlier."

He opened the scroll Shizune had given him.

"You're actually going to learn medical ninjutsu?" Kurenai asked, surprised.

"Yup. Thought I'd give it a shot," he said.

"Then you've got my support," she smiled brightly.

To be honest, Kurenai wasn't exactly confident in his chances—medical ninjutsu was tough, and Kitazawa was a bit older than the usual trainee.

But he'd surprised her so much lately. And besides—he was her boyfriend. So she chose to trust him.

"How exactly are you planning to support me?" Kitazawa asked, giving her a look.

"You really can't let a single chance slip by, huh?" she shot back, rolling her eyes.

"How is this taking advantage?" Kitazawa replied with a straight face.

"Fine. This okay?"

Kurenai stepped up, bent down, and gave him a kiss on the forehead.

Kitazawa immediately wrapped his arms around her waist, pulling her close—burying his face in her chest.

Well, tried to. His aim was off—he ended up face‑planted into her stomach.

Kurenai felt the heat through her clothes and tensed, then relaxed.

"You're such a kid," she chuckled, running her fingers through his hair. "One minute, that's all… Hey! Hands where I can see them!"

She blushed and quickly grabbed his wrist—Kitazawa was sitting and she was standing, making her thighs an easy target.

"Tsunade-sama and the others could walk in any second," she warned, stepping back.

"How's your Rasengan practice coming?" Kitazawa asked with a grin.

He could still feel the warmth of her legs in his memory.

"Going alright," Kurenai said, adjusting her clothes.

"Good. Let me know if you need help," Kitazawa said as he stood. "I'll be in the room reading."

He'd already laid out the structure for the new jutsu—no need to attend the rest of the sessions.

Back in the room, he spread out the books. Some overlapped with the ones he gave Sakura—those went into the discard pile.

The rest were untouched. He needed to finish them within two weeks.

Thankfully, he had Shadow Clones.

Two clones appeared—three minds, one mission: cram everything.

Meanwhile, back at the Uchiha compound…

After waiting an hour, Sasuke finally saw Itachi return home.

He ran to the entrance excitedly. "Onii-san!"

"Sasuke." Seeing his smile melted away Itachi's stress.

Life as a double agent between Konoha and the Uchiha Clan wasn't easy.

At least with Tsunade's return, the pressure from the clan had eased.

"Got any new Fire‑Style jutsu I can give to Kitazawa‑sensei?" Sasuke asked bluntly.

"He taught you something new again?" Itachi raised an eyebrow, amused.

"Yup! Today it was Fire Style: Great Dragon Fire Jutsu!"

"…That one?" Itachi was a bit stunned. "Wait, don't tell me—he already mastered the other four jutsu I gave you to pass on?"

"Is that weird?"

"It's impressive. Learning four Fire-Style jutsu in such a short time? Your teacher's no ordinary guy."

"He's definitely strong," Sasuke said. "The three fire dragons he breathed out today were massive!"

"I'll teach you sometime," Itachi smiled. "We'll see whose fire dragons are bigger."

"Awesome!" Sasuke was thrilled.

"As a return gift, give him two more Fire jutsu," Itachi said after thinking.

The proud Uchiha didn't care much if others learned their Fire techniques—after all, what made the Uchiha strong wasn't Fire Style, but the Sharingan.

That alone created a power gap others couldn't cross.

"Nii-san… one last question," Sasuke said hopefully. "How do I awaken the Sharingan?"

"…"

Itachi went quiet.

He had awakened his Sharingan after witnessing a masked man murder his comrade.

His Mangekyō had come when he watched Shisui take his own life.

For most Uchiha, the Sharingan awakened in tragedy—after the loss of someone close.

What was he supposed to say?

Wait here, I'll go kill someone you love?

Or let me die instead?

So instead, he gently placed a hand on Sasuke's head and said:

"Keep training. Once your strength reaches a certain point—it'll awaken on its own."
