Chapter 55 - Beach (7)

"Ugah!"

I opened my eyes wide, sweating profusely.

And right in front of me was Namor, also wide-eyed, staring at me.

"W-What?!" Namor exclaimed in shock while I noticed I was standing next to Gwen, Moonie, and Bruce.

"How the hell did you break free?! Just a second ago, you were like a lifeless puppet!"

'What? You jerk! I thought you were protecting my mind!'

[Holy crap! I lost connection!]

'You're in my body!'

[Yeah! And that Leader guy's machine ripped your consciousness out and threw it somewhere else!]

'I thought you were powerful enough to save me!'

[Dude, being strong doesn't mean I'm omnipotent!]

'Useless!'

Namor suddenly kicked me hard while I wasn't paying attention, forcing me back onto the chair.

"What?!"

"Activate it again! Now!"

The chair immediately strapped me down and locked me in place.

Then an electric current shot into my brain.

It hurt like hell, but I thought I could handle it.

"AGHHHHHHH!!!"

Yeah... you don't need to know about that scream.

I gritted my teeth and shot webbing at Namor.

"?!"

Then I yanked the webbing back, pulling Namor toward me.

"Don't think it's that easy!" Namor somehow pulled out a trident and sliced through my webbing.

"Idiot!"

Suddenly, something approached Namor from behind, forcing him to turn around.

"What?! How tough is your webbing?!"

What I was pulling was a metal barrel. Namor jumped out of the way.

As it reached me, I put all my strength into my leg and kicked.

In some illogical way, it flew back toward the glass and shattered it, revealing the Leader frantically trying to control the machine.

"What the hell?! Why isn't the machine working?!" The Leader panicked, pulling his hands away from the controls.

At that moment, I used the leg I'd kicked with—having broken the cuffs with that effort—stood up on it, and leaped toward the Leader.

"That strong?!"

I slammed right into the Leader, then threw my whole body into a heavy hit.

"Ouch ouch ouch ouch!"

"Does it hurt? If it hurts, get me out of this chair now!"

"You're strong enough! You even broke the cuffs with your leg!"

"I'm strong, not omnipotent!"

"Enough!"

Water pellets shot straight at me, piercing through my skin.

"Agh!"

"If I can't brainwash you, I'll just eliminate you!" Namor leaped up, pointing his trident at my chest.

"You..." I collapsed.

Then I smirked.

"You think I'm that easy to kill?"

I broke free from the chair and stood up like nothing happened.

"What?"

He looked at my wounds, which had healed unnaturally fast, then at the chair, now completely wrecked with holes.

"Oh, great."

I shot webbing at him and pulled him toward me.

"This is payback!"

I landed a heavy punch to his stomach, making him spew water.

"Not done yet!"

I pulled him toward me again and kept attacking.

"Ora!" One punch to the face.

"Ora ora!" Two punches to the face.

"Ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora ora!!" I kept pulling and punching relentlessly, then stepped back.

"ORA!" A direct kick to his stomach sent him flying.

I turned to the Leader.

"If you think I'm that easy to take down, you're dead wrong!" The Leader laughed and grabbed a megaphone.

"I command you! Take this kid out now!"

Right then, a massive hand grabbed my head.

"Oh, great, are you kidding me?"

I was thrown hard to the side, and then two or three moon-shaped throwing stars hit my chest and exploded violently.

I fell, clutching my wounds and torn suit, looking at my attackers.

It was Hulk and Moonie.

Alright, he's controlling both of them too? I thought Moonie was immune to this? And Hulk should be something else entirely!

"Kill that kid now!"

Hulk roared and charged at me while Moonie kept attacking from a distance.

'I have to free them!'

I looked at the two chairs and the machine that had been activated.

...wait, someone's missing.

A thin strand of webbing gently wrapped around my neck.

Then pulled tight!

"Guhh!"

I was hoisted up and looked at the person who did it.

"G-Gwen!"

Gwen stared at me blankly and pulled even tighter.

I couldn't breathe, struggling desperately.

Water pellets shot into both my arms, rendering them immobile.

Namor walked up, wiping blood from his face, looking at me with displeasure.

"That hurt."

I was hanging there, looking at Hulk, Moonie, Gwen, and Namor all targeting me.

Even though I heal fast, I had a feeling it wouldn't make me immortal.

[Need help? This situation doesn't look good.]

'No need...'

[Then what? You're not using my power, so what's the plan? Let them torture you?]

'Let me handle this!'

So, I looked at Gwen, who was still strangling me.

"G-Gwen! Listen to me!"

She stayed silent, her eyes lifeless as she stared at me.

Honestly, I wasn't confident this would do anything.

But I believed Gwen was different—not because I trusted her, but because...

She's freaking weird.

So... Gwen! I'm begging you!

"Gwen! That tanned guy with the trident down there..."

I looked at Gwen and shouted.

"He... he's planning to turn me into a femboy and ruin my ass!"

...?

????

Everyone froze, especially Namor.

He went from confused to shocked to furious.

"YOU JERK! I'M NOT GAY! STOP SPREADING LIES!"

"GWEN! YOU HAVE TO BELIEVE ME! IF NOT, MY ASS IS GONNA GET WRECKED BY A GUY!"

"YOU THINK THAT'LL WORK ON SOMEONE WHO'S BRAINWASHED, YOU IDIOT—"

*Crack*

With a single sound, Namor and the Leader turned toward it.

Gwen, still standing there, had snapped her own neck.

She fell, and so did I, as the webbing loosened.

"Gwen?" I stared in shock at her motionless body.

Then she stood up, snapped her head back into place, and looked normal again.

"...what the fuck?" Namor stepped back, staring at her.

Her eyes locked onto Namor.

"Punching his stomach, kicking his head, torturing, shooting holes in him, ordering me to attack Peter."

"And most importantly, turning Peter into a femboy and doing gay stuff?"

"...uh, girl? That last one is way off—"

"I'll give you six different deaths."

"What—"

She vanished.

"?!"

Namor suddenly realized Gwen's presence was gone—he could barely sense her.

"Invisibility? If that's the case—"

In an instant, Namor's body was covered in brutal cuts.

"...?"

Namor looked behind him, seeing Gwen manipulating her webbing as if it had a mind of its own.

"I knew Gwen could do it!"

[Dude, be more careful with her. Snapping her own neck and still being alive is kinda creepy.]

I looked at the Leader, who was sweating buckets.

"W-What are you standing there for?! Take him out!"

Hulk and Moonie charged at me.

'Hey... Is there a way to save them?'

[I thought you didn't want my powers?]

'I just don't wanna lose my humanity, okay? Is there something that won't make me lose it?'

[Actually, yeah, there's a bunch of options. Like creating illusions, diving into someone's consciousness, blah blah.]

'The heck? You had these badass skills and didn't tell me??'

[You didn't ask.]

'I hate you.'

I looked at Hulk and Moonie preparing to attack, then shouted in my mind.

'Hurry up and tell me how to use that consciousness-diving thing!!'

[Chill out.]

Right after that, my vision turned into a spiral, zooming straight into Hulk's head.

***

"..."

I was standing there, watching a young boy eagerly reading a science book.

It looked like Bruce when he was a kid...

"Alright, what? Why am I seeing Bruce's entire life now?"

*****

Let me clarify: this novel has only ONE heroine, ONE FEMALE LEAD. If any girl likes Peter, there are only two possibilities—it's either for comedic effect, or I've got some kind of plan for her.

If you're still reading this novel, I ask for your patience and let me cook.
