His rifle aimed at no point in particular above, Henry let off a single round. The lit dimensions flashed with a cry, and an
insignificant spot along that interior wall was struck. A pinhole-sized dot distinguished itself among all that hazy grey.
He and Ernie watched as, like a virus, the surface around that hole darkened, but instead of falling away, the wall sagged inward. The darkness chiseled the drooping hump into hardened angles, defined curves, and straight lines.
There at the bottom, they saw the skull forming first. The teeth were set before the eye sockets were bored deep inside. Despite being up-side-down, the jaw hung loose, along with the rest of the skull as it dangled from the spine. The collarbone was fixed before the counting ribs. There at the shoulders, the arms still stretched upward. The hands weren't formed, having yet to emerge from the wall. Before they took shape, the skull already fell loose from the spine. Though, it didn't fall alone. The ribcage dropped from the section of spine running toward the pelvic bone, leaving the arms to dangle free…only to rain down after the other pieces,
once the hands were formed. The legs were spat forth to join the rest of the body as it all splattered upon the floor.
What was left above was a small hole where more light shone through.
