"There we go." Henry growled with a smile.
He hadn't let off another round. Neither did Ernie, but the interior wall moved. The unseen bricks, rows and columns of bulges reached toward the center of the tower. None of them darkened but were being chiseled into hardened angles and
distinguished curves. Though, there were less straight lines in their forms.
And they weren't drooping, lifeless.
Instead, they were straightening into beam-like structures. All of them were facing toward the floor. Henry and Ernie could tell, because the teeth came first again. Then the dark sockets for their eyes, but within glowed a brightening red. There was flesh upon their collarbones and chests. Their shoulders were thick with muscle which shaped the rest of their arms.
Hanging from their abdomens still embedded within the wall, together they uttered their displeasure. A vibrating groan filled those lit dimensions.
Ernie and Henry matched the smiles aimed back at them, and readied their rifles.
