Chapter 34 - Chapter 34 Overcoming despair(The Third Trial)

He was happy to see the recent familiar faces he had seen for the first time in this world, the fifteen Vermillion birds. Even if they were arrogant at the end of the day they were his servants. Thinking about this he looked at them with expectation as his eyes shone like the brightness of the stars as he looked at them thinking that they were going to kneel especially the beautiful femme fatales and that ridiculous and impudent sir Waltzberg. A second passed by two seconds, ten seconds heck if the time in here was equivalent to that in the real world then al he definitely knew that a couple of minutes passed. 'So uhhhhh', he scratched his head with a shy expression etched on his face. "What you did there was impressive lord lntruder ', Sir Waltzberg said with a bit of sarcasm though in his tone there was reverence clothed within it. "Congratulations lord lntruder it seems like you are hard to kill ….', another female femme fatale said. "Truly you are a wonder to behold ', another said. Wait why aren't you bowing or kowtowing to me ', he thought in his mind deciding not to blurt out those words since he received their praises even though they were sarcastic and felt like they wanted to curse him or something but that did not matter to him because it was none of his concern. He hated being called intruder but what could he do other than just receive their mockery. He wanted to ask a question but Sir Waltzberg saved himself and the others from being asked questions for now and told him to prepare for his third trial. "All of the questions you desire to ask will be answered in the end". Hearing this he disappeared. "Darn it not even a sixty minute break or something these devils are truly evil in nature ', he cursed silently. At first he did not even have an idea about his whereabouts but he realised that he was in a cave that had paintings .These paintings were dark and vivid imagery was on their walls .They looked like shadows. lt felt like the shadows were moving and at the same time they were not making it kind of creepy . Right then and there he started seeing things that happened in his childhood since the time he was born into this world till now. He saw his parents smiling at their new born child rejoicing with his uncle. Life was good but when he turned five they died and he was left with his uncle who was both his mother and father. From the age of five till he was about to turn fifteen he lived with his uncle a pleasant life until he disappeared. After he was done reminiscing a seed of despair was planted in his heart. He felt turmoil and unease in his heart, the kind of unease he had never felt in his lifetime. He felt so much uncomfortable because of the despair. When it's seed started growing it became fear. Fear concerning what the future held, fear he swore he had never felt in his whole life. At that time he started to remember his uncle's words. Never to be despaired or fear anything in life he remembered what he said about heart demons and how they would be an obstacle in his life no matter what. Hope is like the gleam of the sun's rising and faith is like the beautiful entrance of the morning ', he kept on repeating these words. He kept on affirming and affirming until it had been firmly established in his heart and was in sync with it. He kept on affirming and affirming till it was plastered on the walls of his heart. His eyes were closed so he did not know that he was no longer in the dark cave where only gloom and sadness seemed to be its inhabitants. He did not know that he had already passed the exam until he heard a cough that stopped him from affirming any longer.

Sir Waltzberg and the others had astonished looks on their faces. Their faces had surprised looks. They were literally shocked by what he had done because they were not sure if this guy was a proper candidate or not at first but they wondered at the very fact that this guy might be able to claim the inheritance. For a couple of years only powerful beings came here but they all perished. One perished in the first the other in the second, two in the third and the other died in the fifth trial. Congratulations lord lntruder ', this time Sir Waltzberg said without any hint of pretence or any form of mockery written on his face. So did the others because they knew what these trials were all about .The third trial tested one's heart. lf one gave up to despair in the third trial one's heart would be corrupted with the darkness and if one was to be engulfed by this darkness they would be not be killed by it but they would become corrupt or profane and they would be called the hopeless, a fate worser than death. lt was a terrifying and horrifying thing indeed to say the least. "Well done you have done well', Naina gave him a thumbs up while the other guards showed a hint of respect towards him making him happy. Now that the the third trial is done you must enter the fourth and after that the fifth and last trial and you will be able to leave this place temporarily because you would have inherited the power of the phoenix to a very little extent but it will still be helpful', Sir Waltzberg said. 'Follow me ', at this time Sir Waltzberg started walking towards a certain direction. This direction led to some of the mountains. Ray who followed behind him was left in awe by the beautiful area he saw other rivers, gigantic trees and the beautiful ecosystem in this place. He was able to see millions of vermillion birds and golems and such patrolling the area, beings that were even more powerful than Sir Waltzberg himself. Entering the entance of the mountain he saw a phoenix that wore a robe and on this robe was written a word in an ancient rune and it was 'oracle', he was going to speak with the oracle in this trial. Sir Waltzberg waited at the entrance of the mountain while he was here. 'Hello young Ray Nagisaki ', the female Phoenix greeted him with a smile. Ray was awestruck by this creature and was happy because for the first time ever since he got to this place because someone knew him and called him by name.
