Damon chuckled, stepping forward lazily, his baseball bat still slung over his shoulder. "Predictable, maybe. But at least we have the decency not to corner someone who clearly doesn't want to be cornered."
"Last I checked," Zade replied, folding his arms, "you three were the ones who didn't understand boundaries."
Aven's eyes darkened. "Boundaries?" He tilted his head slightly. "You mean the ones you trampled the moment you touched her?"
My back was still pressed against the wall as I tried to recover.
I had nearly gotten lost in him again, the mate bond collided with the residual feelings, and I found myself almost falling for him again, until the Alpha successors arrived, calling me out of my haze.
I tried to get out of the corner, but their energy and bodies blocked any chances of my escaping this scene, so I just stood there and watched, hoping for an intervention.
Zade's smirk didn't falter, but his jaw twitched, just enough for me to catch it.
