Chapter 200 - Chapter 193 - Taking Care

"Sigh, what are we going to do? Wende, he..."

March 7th stared worriedly at Wende, who was lying on the bed. They had already returned to their temporary residence in the Alchemy Commission. Because of Wende's strange condition, they had no mind to chase after that Phantylia anymore…

Looking at Tingyun sitting by Wende's bedside and Stelle leaning over him from the other side, Welt let out a deep sigh.

Through Fu Xuan's own divinations and a few questions posed to Tingyun, they could now confirm that the woman before them was the real Tingyun…

However, to bring her back safely, Wende had also paid a certain price… According to Tingyun, inside the consciousness space, Wende had expended a massive amount of power to nourish her spiritual energy and drive Phantylia out. Then, to help her adapt to a physical body that had been corroded by [Destruction], Wende had seemingly used that mysterious power of his again…

After the Xianzhou learned of Wende's situation, they had the Astral Express crew pause their assistance mission. Jing Yuan himself used some unknown means to invite the "Dragon Lady" to the Alchemy Commission to help look after Wende.

"Sister Tingyun, could you help me place this wet towel on Wende's head?"

Bailu handed Tingyun a towel that had been soaked in ice water.

"Of course. Thank you for your hard work, Lady Bailu."

Tingyun took the towel and gave Bailu a slight nod. She then folded it neatly and gently placed it on Wende's forehead. Feeling the astonishing heat radiating from his body, Tingyun's eyes filled with worry…

"Little Bailu… Wende… when will he wake up?"

March lowered her head and asked Bailu hesitantly… She was truly scared right now, scared that something might happen to Wende…

"Mmm… Sister March, you don't have to worry for now. Mr. Wende is just running a fever. Although the source of this heat is unclear, as long as we change the water regularly, keep the room's air circulating, and help him dissipate the heat properly, I believe Doctor Wende should… be able to wake up, right?"

Seeing how concerned March 7th was for Wende, Bailu herself wasn't entirely sure either…

This Doctor Wende's ailment was truly bizarre. Although he was unconscious, his pulse was normal, his breathing was even, and there were no problems with his internal organs. Other than his form suddenly changing from the big brother she had first seen into a child who didn't look much older than herself, there were no other major issues. He was just constantly feverish…

Honestly, not a single medical text in the entire Xianzhou described such a strange illness. Perhaps… the only person who could cure this condition was the patient himself?

"Alright, just have one person stay on guard later. With a whole crowd of people gathered here, the heat can't dissipate! Oh, and don't open the window! Even though Mr. Wende is radiating heat, it doesn't mean he doesn't need to stay warm!"

Bailu stood with her hands on her hips, lecturing everyone like a little adult.

"Since Lady Bailu has spoken, let's take turns looking after Wende," Welt suggested, looking at the three dejected figures in the room.

"Yes, we'll do as Mr. Welt says…"

Tingyun nodded wearily. She still felt a bit unaccustomed to her own body… On top of that, her mind was heavy with thoughts… she really needed to rest.

"Miss Tingyun, you should go rest first. You're already exhausted. I'll take over looking after Wende for now. You too, Stelle, don't just lie on top of Wende. Aren't you afraid of making him hotter?"

March walked over to Wende's side, looking at his childish face with deep concern before speaking to Tingyun and Stelle.

"Okay… then I'll leave it to you, March."

After casting a reluctant glance at the still-unconscious Wende, Tingyun nodded to March.

Stelle also knew that clinging to Wende's side wouldn't get her a response and would only cause more trouble, so she sensibly followed Tingyun out of the room.

"March, we're counting on you."

Welt nodded at March, glanced at Wende on the bed, and then led the others away.

After everyone left, the bedroom became incredibly quiet.

"Sigh… honestly. It used to be Stelle making people worry, but now you're making me worry too… Get better soon, okay? I still want… I still want you to make me delicious food after you wake up…"

March murmured as she caressed Wende's burning hot little face. She then took the nearly dry towel from his forehead, rinsed it in the cold water, folded it, and placed it back on his head.

Just like that, March took care of the little Wende. Two hours later, Stelle came to take over. After giving her some instructions, March also went to rest.

The next to relieve Stelle was Tingyun. Welt had gone to the Seat of Divine Foresight to discuss some matters, so it fell to Tingyun to help look after Wende.

"Sigh, Benefactor, when will you wake up…"

Tingyun's face was etched with sorrow, and her usually lively fox ears drooped down.

Knock, knock, knock…

Half an hour later, a gentle knock came from the door to Wende's room.

"Hm? It's not time to change shifts yet, is it?"

Tingyun tilted her head in confusion. She got up from Wende's bedside, walked to the door, and opened it.

A Cloud Knight was standing outside, waiting.

"You are…"

Tingyun looked at the Cloud Knight before her with a puzzled expression.

"Miss Tingyun, the General has some matters he would like you to verify. The members of the Astral Express have already gone ahead."

Looking at this Cloud Knight, whose voice was very gentle and who seemed to be a kind woman, Tingyun frowned with some hesitation. Why would the General summon them now?

Seeing Tingyun's hesitant look, the Cloud Knight seemed to know what she was thinking and quickly said, "Don't worry, Miss Tingyun. Lady Bailu is already on her way. We will take care of Doctor Wende in the interim."

"This is a written directive from the Seat of Divine Foresight."

The Cloud Knight handed a document to Tingyun. Tingyun took the directive and confirmed it carefully before looking up at the Cloud Knight.

No one would forge a directive from the Seat of Divine Foresight. This meant that what this Cloud Knight was saying was true…

"I understand. I'll have to ask you, Sister Cloud Knight, to please take good care of Mr. Wende."

"Of course. Doctor Wende's kindness to us is as heavy as a mountain. I will personally see to his care."

The Cloud Knight spoke to Tingyun with solemnity.

Seeing how sincere the Cloud Knight was, Tingyun's doubts dissipated. She then hurried off in the direction of Fu Xuan's location.
