Chapter 96 - Flying Towards the Sun!

Earth, a beautiful planet home to 7.5 billion humans.

Jino couldn't find the words to describe how he felt at that moment.

A phrase echoed in his mind.

Some always look down at their feet, never gazing up at the starry sky.

He wondered if, when humanity's first ancestor looked up at the stars, he had imagined what the night sky above was like? A giant glass dome? Or a black stain?

Jino stood quietly in space, watching Earth slowly rotate.

It was a sight he'd never seen in his twenty years on Earth.

Unlike the images taken from satellites, when a person truly stood before this planet, they could feel a deep sense of awe, realizing the vastness of the universe and the boundlessness of time and space.

"How beautiful," Jino marveled inwardly, his heart utterly tranquil.

He gazed at Earth for a moment,

then his gaze swept past it, focusing on a massive star even further away.

From a distance, it resembled a giant, orange fireball, radiating intense heat and orange light.

It was like an old-fashioned glass lightbulb in a home, faintly emitting light and warmth in the vast, immense universe, dispelling the darkness.

"The Sun."

Jino exclaimed internally.

He watched that star.

This giant ball of gas, with a radius of 700,000 kilometers, is 150 million kilometers away from Earth. It's constantly emitting terrifying heat through the reaction of hydrogen and helium. Surrounded by eight planets, it's like an emperor in the universe, with all the stars paying homage.

The energy from constant nuclear fusion spreads outwards through the cosmos. Feeling this intense heat, Jino felt as comfortable as if he were soaking in a hot spring.

"Get closer."

Jino gazed at the giant star with fiery eyes.

"I want to fly to the Sun!"

This thought arose in his mind and took root like a weed.

He tightened his bio-field, making it cling to his skin, and Jino's gaze became resolute.

"Whoosh!"

He accelerated, hurtling towards the Sun.

The distance between them rapidly decreased, and more and more solar energy cascaded over Jino.

Every cell in his body rejoiced, and every hair on his skin stood on end.

A scorching energy seemed to flow within his eyes.

"Closer!"

Jino gritted his teeth and sped up again, until his vision was filled with fiery reds and oranges, until the blinding light made even Jino squint.

The boy spread his arms, and at the same time, he seemed to hear something within him shatter.

Buzz!

The heat, almost identical to the Sun's, gathered in his eyes.

The scorching energy even gave Jino the illusion that his eye sockets might melt.

"Ah!"

He screamed silently, looking up into the depths of the cosmos.

Boom!

A pair of fiery, magma-like energy beams shot forth from Jino's eyes.

They sliced through the deep black void, like two dazzling red arrows, gradually fading into the depths of space.

"Heat Vision!"

Jino stared in surprise at the dissipating energy beam.

He tried to channel it again.

Another familiar energy beam erupted from his eyes. Though silent, the glow was dazzling in the dark cosmos.

The Sun's surface, with its 5500 degrees of heat, nourished his body, making his already large frame even more robust and powerful.

Jino turned to face the Sun and opened his mouth, letting out a silent roar.

"I am… a god!"

The words, cheesy as they were, escaped his lips. He slowly spread his arms, as if to embrace the entire planet.

While Jino was alone, accomplishing the most shocking feat in human history,

far away on Devil's Island, Talia walked silently through a familiar cave tunnel.

"Leader."

She received Ra's al Ghul's summons the moment she disembarked, having rushed back from Gotham.

She lowered her head, but could still hear the heavy breathing from the large stone chair not far away.

"Talia."

Ra's al Ghul stroked the polished round armrest of the stone chair.

His aged face was hidden in the darkness, his gaunt body stood upright, and his dark green eyes stared at the daughter he had never valued.

"What were you doing in Gotham?"

The old man's voice didn't betray any emotion, but Talia knew she had to be careful, careful of this cold, old snake; it was a cunning hunter.

"Go, investigate some things."

Talia pursed her lips.

"I remember you always wanted to eradicate the sinful city of Gotham."

"Heh." Ra's al Ghul cut off Talia's words, his eyes narrowed: "So, should I thank you for sharing my worries?"

He clapped his hands.

The next second, an assassin from the League of Assassins slowly emerged from the darkness of the corner, and a sneer appeared on Ra's al Ghul's face: "Talia, Wood has told me everything."

Boom! It was as if a thunderclap had exploded in Talia's heart.

Unspeakable anger rose in the woman's heart. Her father had actually planted a mole among her subordinates!?

What should she do now with this damned old viper?

"Then."

Ra's al Ghul slowly pushed himself up, picking up a katana from the weapon rack.

The old man walked slowly towards Talia.

The woman felt the cold blade against her neck.

"Tell me everything about that boy."

Elliot Manor.

When Jino returned to Gotham City, standing in a dirty alley, it was already the next morning.

"Beep beep."

The phone, connected to a network signal, quickly popped up with a few text messages.

Jino scrolled through his messages.

The first was from Thomas, his uncle, asking where he'd been tonight and why he hadn't come home.

The second message was from Lex Luthor, his brother. It included a photo of Lionel and Victoria in bed, along with the message: Sometimes I want to kill him.

"Tsk."

Jino clicked his tongue, figuring Lionel had gone insane to test Lex.

He continued to read his messages.

There were greetings from many of his former classmates. When Jino saw the message from Talia, a mocking smile appeared on his face.

[Talia: My father has learned of the Court of Owls' demise, as well as some of your abilities. He plans to come to Gotham City personally to take control of the city.]

Jino wore a thoughtful expression. Ra's al Ghul was coming to Gotham City?

The leader of the League of Assassins, an assassin of extraordinary skill.

Jino's mind stirred slightly. Ra's al Ghul, was he also considered a supervillain?

He called up the system panel. Looking at the remaining six thousand negative points, a plan surfaced in Jino's mind.

[Bring him here.]

He closed his phone and turned his gaze toward Wayne Manor in the distance.

Hopefully, the bat-brat is already prepared.

He wanted to prepare a gift for Ra's al Ghul and Batman.

The previous maze might be usable again.

However, before that, he needed a thorough plan.

PS: Another brain-burning question. Can Kryptonians speak in space? 1. In the comics, Superman and his Kryptonian countrymen talk to each other in space during battles.

2. In the movies, General Zod and the others came to Earth in a spaceship. It's impossible to determine if they could speak in the vacuum of space. So, let's respect science. Sound cannot travel in a vacuum. Most of space is a vacuum. A small portion can transmit sound, blah blah blah. If there are any errors, please feel free to correct them.
